About this project
Hi, I’m Teague Fleury, founder of Wide Eyed Collective and the creator of "Get Lost: To the Darien Gap and Back." "Get Lost" is a motorcycle adventure series chronicling my journey from a small town in Connecticut to the Darien Gap in Panama…and back again. Over the course of three months, I traveled 12,000 miles through nine countries and crossed fourteen international borders all by myself. I filmed the entire adventure and returned home with 65 hours of footage. Now, with a little help from you, I will be able to transform that footage into a twelve episode web series.
Here is the official "Get Lost" trailer, which can also be seen at the end of the Kickstarter video above:
What You Get
I returned home from Panama with a massive amount of content. I have enough video footage for a twelve part series, with each episode lasting about eight to ten minutes long.
I began filming my journey well before I actually left, so you will observe my personal transformation from a grocery store manager to a budding adventure filmmaker, and everything in between... All the personal and financial struggles I faced leading up to my departure are included.
You will experience firsthand the fear that I faced, alone, as I head into a foreign land for the first time.
You will see a border crossing in first-person perspective, the insanity of trying to survive amidst other drivers in Central America, and more rain than you can possibly imagine.
You will visit ancient Mayan ruins and an intense Guatemalan water crossing that drowned the road to Tikal National Park.
I never knew where I would sleep each night, but I always found shelter. My motorcycle broke down in seemingly hopeless situations, but my eyes were opened to the kindness of others. I used no maps, but I found my way.
"Get Lost" allows the viewer to experience all the roadblocks and all the triumphs of an extraordinary voyage into the unknown.

Why A Web Series
My original intention for this project was to release it as a feature length documentary. However, my opinion changed. I have fallen in love with the immediacy of releasing content on the web. I think accessibility is vital to give this project life. Releasing regularly scheduled episodes will open up a dialogue with viewers and the entire project will become an interactive medium. You just can't get that from watching a movie. I'm excited about this and all the potential it brings for adding value to the people investing time and money in my content.

Risks and challenges
Honestly, the way I see it, all the risk is behind me.
The hard part was making changes in my life that allowed me to step away from "the norm" and take a once in a lifetime adventure.
All the footage has been captured, logged and is ready to be edited down into episodes. The infrastructure is in place and with the support from this campaign, I will have the post-production funds necessary to bring everything together.
My work ethic is unstoppable, as is my drive to create a series that the viewing public wants to see. I will tackle all obstacles with tenacity and perseverance and I will continue to be honest about my challenges along the way.
Thank you for helping to fund "Get Lost." May we all be a bit more inspired to go out and do something we love!
