We've made two videos - one for Kickstarter (above), and a trailer promoting the film which you can see below. See the project reviewed on Movie.com and Indie Wire.
Buenos Aires is a complex, chaotic city. It has European style and a Latin American heart. It has oscillated between dictatorship and democracy for over a century, and its citizens have barely known political or economic stability.
Throughout Buenos Aires' turbulent history, successive generations of activists and artists have taken to the streets to express themselves, through words and through art. This has given the walls a powerful and symbolic role. They have become the city’s voice.
This powerful tradition of expression in public space; of art and activism, has made the streets of Buenos Aires into a riot of colour and communication.
Stylised painted propaganda vies for attention with advertising billboards. Sprayed messages declare love for football teams, people and political ideals. Graffiti writers have tagged every wall and shutter, and in recent years street art has flourished bringing vibrant works to every corner of the city.
These layers of paint tell the story of this unique form of expression.
The walls of Buenos Aires talk. "White Walls Say Nothing" is a film which reveals how much they have to tell us.

OUR PLAN FOR KICKSTARTER
Our goal is to raise $32,000, which will provide us with enough money to complete filming. We have a brilliant team who have put two years of work into this project, but in order to finish filming and truly do the project justice we need to bring in additional expertise, and cover essential costs such as travel, equipment hire and insurance.
We're approaching this Kickstarter campaign both as a way of funding the documentary, and involving more people in our project. Everything we have achieved to date has been made possible through the support of some amazing individuals and organisations. We're always keen to make new friends and meet new potential collaborators.
We understand that not everyone will be able to make a financial contribution, but please know that every dollar counts towards us reaching our goal, and every effort you make to promote the project will help us reach more potential backers.
If you could help promote this project on facebook, twitter and to your contacts we would be incredibly grateful.
THE REWARDS
The beauty of Kickstarter is that we can involve people in the production of our film and reward their support, and we have some amazing rewards to give to our backers.
For backers contributing $2 or more - THANK YOU! Every little bit helps us get closer to reaching our goal. You'll receive our thanks and a couple of beautiful high resolution images of street art you can print or admire digitally.
For backers contributing $15 or more we can share a digital download of the "Future Sound of Buenos Aires" compilation album of cutting edge Argentine music from ZZK records. ZZK artists such as Tremor (featured in our trailer) will be providing the soundtrack to our film.
For backers contributing $25 or more in addition to the compilation album we can share a high definition digital download of the film
For backers contributing $50 or more we can send you a signed pre-release DVD of the film, together with a small work of art from the excellent people at Confitte, makers of super cool products which feature artwork and designs from a selection of Buenos Aires street artists.

For backers contributing $100 or more we can share all of the above, plus invite you and a friend to join us on a graffitimundo tour of Buenos Aires. And if you can't make it to the streets, we'll bring them to you in the form of five beautifully printed 8" by 11" images of street art, signed by the artists.
For backers contributing $250 or more we can share all of the above, plus a limited edition stencil artwork from rundontwalk or Stencil Land, two pioneers of stencil art in Buenos Aires whose iconic images can be seen throughout the city.

For backers contributing $500 or more we can offer all the rewards for $100, plus an original, hand painted and utterly unique piece of artwork by Tester, an artist whose enigmatic style is as captivating in the streets as it is in galleries.

For backers contributing $1500 or more we can offer all the rewards for $100 plus a piece of original custom artwork by internationally celebrated artist Franco "Jaz" Fasoli, who will paint something unique especially for you.

And for any backers who are able to contribute $10k or more towards our project - we will credit you as an executive producer and invite you to join us in Buenos Aires where unique experiences and opportunities await you. We'll arrange a four night stay at Home Hotel, the city's coolest boutique hotel in the heart of trendy Palermo. You'll dine out with the artists, paint the streets together and learn their techniques. graffitimundo will be your guide to the city, showing you the best art and culture the city has to offer, and you'll leave with custom artwork from the artist of your choice.
We're very grateful to everyone who has collaborated with us and enabled us to offer backers such amazing rewards.
But most of all we'd like to thank all the artists we work with, for giving us the opportunity to share their stories, their lives and their work with the world. The most valuable reward we can give our backers is the story itself.
We hope you will support our project!
Important Note:
Your credit card is only charged, if and when, we reach our goal of usd$32,000. Funding on Kickstarter is "all or nothing" and if we do not reach our fundraising goal by October the 31st, you don't get charged a dime. At the end of the fundraising campaign, backers will be contacted by the project's producer to obtain any additional information that may be needed (ie. shipping address, etc.). Thank you so very much, every dollar seriously makes a huge difference!!!
DON'T FORGET KICKSTARTER IS ALL OR NOTHING. WE HAVE LESS THAN A MONTH TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN TOGETHER. THANKS!
If you'd like any more information about the project please send an email to whitewalls@graffitimundo.com
Risks and challenges
We have a very efficient and dedicated team working on this project. We believe in the power of the story we want to tell, and providing we can cover our essential costs, nothing is going to stop us from sharing this story with the world.
The kickstarter money will cover the cost of production, and will make this project viable financially. Once we have completed filming, the next stage for us will be post-production - editing, animating and sculpting the raw footage into a finished product. We are looking to different sources to fund this stage, and have already secured backing from a number of investors and sponsors. We will also be able to access a number of grants to help finance this stage.
Our production schedule assumes that we can secure post production funding by December. We feel this is achievable based the discussions we have had with our investors and sponsors, and our eligibility for grants. But in the event that we do not get the money by December, there will be delays to our production schedule, which will have an impact on the date we can share the film with you.
Making films is a complicated business and requires thousands of hours of work. We've planned those hours out, and we're confident that we'll have a film to share with you by July 2013, but if there are hiccups along the way that date may end up being pushed back a little. So in the interest of being upfront and honest, we wanted to flag that up!
