(Haven't you always wanted a Wee Manticore?) ♬ ♪
You did it! You made it happen! You made it possible to bring the Wee Beastie Manticore to huggable, loveable, adorable life! Onward to stretch goals!
Wee Beasties are wee versions of classic fantasy RPG monsters that are super adorable and far from intimidating. The Wee Beasties plush are based on the illustrations from our book, Wee Beasties: Bedtime, written by Andi Smith and illustrated by Marina Neira. Thanks to many wonderful supporters, we were able to release the book after our successful Kickstarter Campaign in the Spring of 2014.
After the book's release, we received many inquiries about a plush line for the Wee Beasties. So, here we are!
All of the Wee Beasties plush will be approximately 8 inches tall; made of soft minky fabric; and finished with embroidered features and details. We aim to have each Wee Beasties plush to closely resemble the illustrations from the book.
“As the moon shines brightly in the night sky, the Wee Beasties get ready for bed.
What kinds of things might Wee Beasties do before resting their Wee Beastie heads?”
Wee Beasties: Bedtime introduces children to classic RPG monsters like the owlbear, ettin, and dragon. Rhymes and vibrant, whimsical images detail the different activities the various creatures might do as they prepare for bed. The illustrations also include gaming related easter eggs that are fun for all ages; especially for tabletop gamers to share with their children.
Wee Beasties: Bedtime is available as an enhanced eBook (this is an eBook with narration), softcover, and hardcover.
The enhanced eBook is narrated by the incredibly talented and wickedly brilliant Brian Lewis. (The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, The Gamers: Hands of Fate, JourneyQuest, Glitch)
Another feature of our enhanced eBook is the interactive easter eggs in the illustrations. All the easter eggs are gaming or gaming culture related and should appeal to tabletop fantasy gamers.
Below is a brief video that features the audio from Wee Beasties: Bedtime.
This video features our son interacting with some of the easter eggs in the enhanced eBook.
For the initial funding we will get the Wee Manticore plush created. More Wee Beasties plush will be unlocked if we exceed our initial funding and reach our stretch goals.

Risks and challenges
If this campaign is successful I will immediately begin working with our manufacturer to have the Wee Manticore and any unlocked Wee Beasties produced.
Since we do not have prototypes for any of our stretch goal plush, we will be working closely with our manufacturer to ensure a high quality plush that closely resembles the concept design sheets as well as the illustrations in the book.
This may of course take some extra time. We want everyone to be pleased with the final result of each and every Wee Beastie plush.
In addition, production and shipping delays may arise, which is normal and sometimes expected.
Our plan is to keep backers well informed and up to date on the progress of their rewards. We will provide updates via email, Kickstarter, and our social media feeds (Facebook & Twitter).Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
