Welcome to Westhallow!
We hope that you enjoy yer stay 'pardner' - so gather all the shoot, saddle up, and play yer part, afore Quick-Clank McCrank gets wind o'yer!
A Wild-West themed D&D 5E adventure series - YEE-HAW!
Set in a world of medieval fantasy, Westhallow is a town like no other. Thanks to a clock-work construct gone haywire, and a mysterious yee-hawing gunslinger shaped spirit, the good people of Westhallow have been subject to a radical shift in culture - albeit a forced one.
Wranglers of Westhallow is a lightly humored, Wild-West themed adventure series designed for the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition (OGL) rule-set. It is jam-packed full of pop-culture references, parody, thematic and often hilarious situations, and super interesting and colorful characters that will stick with you for life.
Series Design Approach: We have designed this so that once the first introductory adventure has been played through, all followup adventures are modulated and can be run in any order. We call this the Westhallow Wagon-wheel approach.
Special Game Rules: All special rules (such as the "lead spitter" firearms) are included in the adventures, so you don't need anything other than these adventure books (and your standard D&D 5e rules) to play.

The Elevator Pitch
Bellis Rustgear is a rock gnome inventor who lives with her twin sons in the town of Westhallow, a quiet and remote assemblage of farmsteads and businesses barely populous enough to be called a village. The creative gnome has invented a series of weapons she calls ‘leadspitter pistols,’ an invention she believes will one day take the world by storm. To help showcase her creation to ‘taller folks,’ she created a clockwork humanoid with a quirky personality.
One night the clockwork invention malfunctioned, taking its fictitious personality to the extreme. Naming itself Quick-Clank McCrank, the construct stole Bellis’s leadspitters and gear. Creating new clockwork humanoids that share its bizarre mannerisms and armed with Bellis’s weapons, Quick-Clank has taken control of Westhallow and forced the residents to roleplay its vision of a strange society where people use words like ‘howdy’ and ‘yeehaw.’
Now Quick-Clank is ready to inflict some new and dangerous oddity onto the good people of Westhallow; an event that will take its rootin’-tootin’ vision to the extreme!
Things to Expect

Phil and Alex have finished writing the first two adventures for this series, though without the funding of a large gaming company, alternative funding needs to be sourced for professional art, editing and layout, as well as the production of both PDF & physical products.
Considerable time, effort and expense have already been invested in the project, but to do it justice and create a standard we - and you - are satisfied with, and deserve, then further funding is required.
This Kickstarter will focus on launching the Wranglers of Westhallow line with the following main products, digital art, and map pack, and exclusive online D&D sessions run by one of the main authors of these rootin'-tootin' fun adventures, Alex Clippinger.
- Wranglers of Westhallow: The Rise of Quick-Clank McCrank (PDF)
- Wranglers of Westhallow: Spirit of the Lands (PDF)
- Physical Premium Softcover Book: Wranglers of Westhallow - Collecting The Rise of Quick-Clank McCrank, and Spirit of the Lands
- Digital Art and Map Pack
- Kickstarter Exclusive Online D&D session: DM'd by Alex Clippinger
We know that everyone is different, and will desire different rewards. PDF or physical copy etc. We have arranged the rewards in a number of Backer Tiers that allow you to choose the rewards you want, and in different combinations. We also have a special early adopter reward tiers.
Kickstarters flourish with funding. As we fund, first and foremost, this funding will be channeled back into the project to create the best product possible. The initial stretch goal adds a brand new adventure to the series, also rewards will be that at every stage more art will be added to the final products, raising their quality as high as we possibly can.
However, if funding exceeds our wildest expectations, we will begin adding further tangible rewards as a thank you, and at various stages of funding, we'll include additional rewards for all qualifying backers.
$4,000 AUD (approx $2,800 USD) A Brand New 3rd Adventure! - If we hit this first stretch goal we can add a whole new third adventure book to be included in Wranglers of Westhallow series. This will include brand new custom cover and art throughout. All backers in tiers earning tangible rewards gain this adventure to their current backer rewards.
$6,000 AUD (approx $4,225 USD) More Art! - At this stage of funding, we'll increase the internal art for all three main books, including characters and scenes not previously rendered. Better quality maps will be funded for also, outsourcing to top line cartography talent.
$8,000 AUD (approx $5,600 USD) New Warlock Patron! As we hit this stretch goal, we will provide a brand new warlock patron with full-color cover and unique/custom art made specifically for Wranglers of Westhallow (though usable for any campaign). All backers in tiers earning tangible rewards gain this warlock patron to their current backer rewards.
$10,000 AUD (approx $7,000 USD) Another Brand New (4th) Adventure! We really hope that we can hit this stretch goal so that we can send you even MORE adventure content with a whole new fourth adventure book to be included in Wranglers of Westhallow. This will include brand new custom cover and art throughout. All backers in tiers earning tangible rewards gain this adventure to their current backer rewards.
All PDF, digital art & maps and physical books rewards will be distributed through DrivethruRPG, an online RPG publisher platform. DrivethruRPG has a print on demand feature and is a stable and trusted distributor of quality RPG materials.

Risks and challenges
While every project comes with its risks, we believe we've limited these to an absolute minimum.
There is a strong personal relationship between the senior developer and property owner (Phil) and the hired writer and developer (Alex). There is literal daily consultation to ensure all parties are involved and invested in the project.
Writing and art are already underway (and mostly complete), and the project team are experienced developers with a proven track record of successful completion of quality products and Kickstarters. The project has been allotted ample time to ensure completion by the intended dates, with delays and crisis recovery accounted for.
The final products will be released and distributed through DrivethruRPG, a platform that is well established and stable.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
