SAVAGE SASQUANAUT #1 (of 6) is a rocket fueled sci-fi action adventure comic about the legendary bigfoot carving a path of chaos across the galaxy. Join him as he high jacks a starship from the largest intergalactic super power, the Aurellian Empire, and that's after he organized a prison break with the outlandish new friends to escape the clutches of a maniacal Empress all in the hope to find a way back to Earth.
The entire series can be described as a mashup of STAR TREK and BUCK ROGERS starring Jack Burton from BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA as bigfoot. That's Sasquanaut in a very broad nutshell.
There is over the top action, stunning visuals, humor, intrigue, love and betrayal, everything a good book needs!

WES HARTMAN - Wes is an award winning comic book colorist, and a small press comic book creator and editor and creator of the Sasquanaut comic. He has spent the last 15+ years working with the biggest and best talent at Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Aspen, Dynamite, etc. and has had his work featured in TV, film, and video games. Some of his previous creations and credits include Moon Streak, Sky Sharks, Gears & Bones, Pirates vs. Ninjas, and more.
GAB SANTOS - John Gabriel Santos “Gabouwness” is an Illustrator and Character Concept Artist who was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Ever since he was a kid he loved to create his own little paper games. That is why when Digital Art was introduced to him in college he realized that he really wanted to pursue art as a career even though his degree is in Information Technology. Gab usually does character designs, cover illustrations, but sometimes he also does fan art, comics, and even card games. He really loves to read comics, play classic video games like Pokemon, and card games like Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Hearthstone and more. Those are his biggest influences. He is fond of making robot designs and mechanical/sci-fi/fantasy/apocalyptic themed illustrations because he finds it cool to draw what the world would look like in the future. He said that art is what he loves to do and that is why he works hard to improve, not only for himself, for the people that love and support him every day.

" This is a great new unique idea and it’s executed extremely well. I like the writing with the story & plot development, pacing and characterisation alongside this really killer comic style interiors. " ---Reading with a Flight Ring

"I stumbled across an EP of a band I had never heard of, with a picture of a gorilla in a space suit on the cover and the title of the record read Sasquanaut I did two things: I laughed my butt off and then started a search. I scoured the internet for month for a story, a comic, a novel, cartoon, game, ANYTHING about bigfoot in space because that idea excited me in a way like Star Wars and X-Men did for me as a kid. I needed to read, no to EXPERIENCE this story. But I couldn't find it anywhere and I was bummed about it. That is until I FINALLY realized (slower than I'd like to admit) that this was the comic I've been born to create! Somebody needs to tell the story of bigfoot in space. The ultimate outcast, hunted his whole life in the forests of Earth now finds himself lost in space, that's too rich of an idea to pass up.
I've spent most of my youth growing up living in the worlds others have created because as a kid who often felt out of place, comics like the X-Men really resonated, Elric of Melnibone was transformative, Star Trek was this utopia where everyone belonged, and Star Wars was just cool. Even with all the powers, costumes, strange worlds and settings the characters and emotions always struck a chord with me in ways non genre fiction never has and when I felt alone these stories helped me connect and understand that there were others out there like me.
Now I think this zany tale of bigfoot lost in space can provide for others, as well as myself, an immense universe full of limitless potential for joy and exciting and fun stories like all those that I have always have and still enjoy."
I am coming to Kickstarter to raise funds for a large print run of Savage Sasquanaut #1, at least 1,000 copies.
The first issue is 100% completed and ready to go to print, and to further prove how invested I am in Sasquanaut, the scripts were written and Gab has already completed penciling and inking issues 2-6.
Kickstarter has proven to be an amazing venue for getting new creative ideas into as many hands as possible, and I would love your support to bring this story to life.
Why participate in the Kickstarter, why not wait until it is in stores?
There are exclusive benefits available only to those who support this campaign, notably the Kickstarter exclusive Paolo Pantalena variant cover and the sweet hard enamel pin.
While 1,000 copies sounds like a lot, it's pretty small, and with Kickstarter pre-orders and convention appearances it will sell out! I also cannot promise that the book will be in a store near you and pre-ordering here through Kickstarter is the best way to absolutely guarantee you will receive your copy.
What happens if you exceed your goal?
If more funds are raised than requested first things first I will use extra money to make this issue and rewards even better with the planned stretch goals like increasing the page count to include the origin story of Sasquanaut drawn by international superstar artist Tyler Kirkham.

Risks and challenges
SAVAGE SASQUANAUT #1 (Wes Hartman - My First Kickstarter Campaign)
Before launching this campaign I have made every effort to minimize any risk to the backer as I know, as a Kickstarter supporter myself, what it means to ask you to support a new project with your hard earned money.
Part of this effort was to make sure that the first issue is 100% completed, and to emphasize how serious this is, all line art for the remaining 5 issues has also been completed by Gab Santos.
When the campaign successfully ends, with your help, the files can be loaded to the printer when the funding comes in, digital rewards can be sent upon receiving completed surveys, and coloring and lettering can continue on all subsequent issues.
I have been in touch with several printers and have chosen to use Color Vision for the first issue upon the campaigns completion.
I have assisted and been associated with other Kickstarter campaigns before, but this is my first campaign that I am running and I have made every effort to learn and prepare myself for this endeavor from discussing and surrounding myself with peers who have been successful in running campaigns as well as attending The ComixLaunch Course for creating successful Kickstarter campaigns.
I love this book and I want everyone who takes part of this campaign to love this book as much as I and have a completely satisfied experience on Kickstarter with me and Gab, so as soon as issue 2 is completed we can offer it to you as well.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to message me and I will do my absolute best to make this project as rewarding as possible.
