These days there’s only one thing more contagious than a zombie bite, and that’s our love for zombies. These shambling hunks of flesh are quickly becoming the biggest contributors to the global entertainment industry today. We are in the middle of a zombie-lover outbreak-and our numbers are growing! Finish your holiday shopping in one stop with a stack of We Kill the Dead 2014 calendars!
So why are we swarming towards this global infestation? It’s simple: you can’t shoot the economy in the head, you can’t plough in to crime statistics in a fuel tanker, and you can’t take a chainsaw to a hurricane, but you can do all that to a zombie. Zombies are one of our most familiar and versatile metaphors for any of the numerous natural or man-made disasters that can occur in our lives and at Z.E.R.T. we use them to full effect – just ask 60,000 of our Facebook followers!
Our Zombie Makeup Artist: Kelly "Red" Belmonte
Twice Emmy nominated makeup artist, Kelly Belmonte, has provided high-definition make-up for the big screen, high fashion and television industries since1996. A dedicated and endlessly creative cosmetologist, her talent for crafting some of the industries most original and disturbing renditions of the walking dead was developed in partnership with the team at Zombieland. Now with a client list that includes some of the world's most recognizable faces and a forthcoming television show that showcases her art, Kelly is set to become a household name and the source of many a zombie nightmare to come.
What is Z.E.R.T ?
Z.E.R.T. is an organization that uses the Zombie as a metaphor for any one of numerous natural or man made disasters that have and will occur in our lives. Hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, criminal attacks, or any type of situation where being prepared, trained and most important, armed with the proper mindset is required to see you and your family through to safety. We know that when armed with the proper mindset and expert training, any family from any walk of life can prepare for the unexpected. That’s why we foster a friendly and safe environment to create responsible students with a solid foundation in the shooting/preparation/training world. Our thousands of members in Z.E.R.T. squadrons all over the world are prepared for their own personal zombie apocalypse and are having a hell of a good time in the process. What is 32 Celsius LLC ?
32 Celsius LLC is a unique marketing firm focused on bridging the gap between special ops, adventure and sci-fi enthusiasts. We license and market products such as this calendar for Z-E-R-T !
The name refers to the body temperature at which you "crossover" into the land of the undead......You transition from human to zombie. As Wikipedia says (must be true) Muscle mis-coordination becomes apparent, Movements are slow and labored, accompanied by a stumbling pace and mild confusion, although the person may appear alert. Surface blood vessels contract further as the body focuses its remaining resources on keeping the vital organs warm. The victim becomes pale. Lips, ears, fingers and toes may become blue.
What does the project entail?
For Z-E-R-T, 32 Celsius is developing an edgy, sexy, and artistic calendar of professionally made-up zombies, hot zombie killers, guns and special ops gear. The photos you see are samples from our promotional photo shoot that took place in Virginia Beach in July! The calendar contains cinema quality zombies and pro photography/graphic design. The project was conceptualized in April, translated into a project plan in May and was launched in mid June when Z.E.R.T. was given the rights to premiere World War Z at a private theater in Las Vegas two days prior to the scheduled release. The money raised in this Kickstarter project will provide the capital necessary for makeup, undead prosthetics, photography and most importantly....printing and production. A Z.E.R.T zombie themed calendar will be produced yearly.
Why will this project be a success?
The owners of 32 Celsius and Z.E.R.T. have a history of making creative project ideas a reality across a number of industries. Our makeup artist has been nominated for two Emmy awards and is one of the top makeup artists in the world (See below). Unlike many Kickstarter projects, our project team has already committed funding and the project is underway. The calendar pre-sale began weeks ago and we have scheduled the casting and makeup sessions for September 15th. Why is this important? The project owners already have "skin in the game". We put our money where our mouth is and this project will be a success. Why do we need the funding? Creating a calendar of this quality, with professional photography, professional models, a double Emmy dominated makeup artist, with the latest and greatest spec ops gear and equipment is expensive!!! We don't want it to be like every other calendar. We want it to be THE calendar and so do our 60,000+ Facebook followers.
Right now, our online marketing team is working with social networking sites, bloggers and other industry outlets to set up a massive marketing push when the calendar is ready to print. Z-E-R-T founder Aaron (shown below) and our crew handed out over 10,000 flyers at ComiCon in San Diego last month. Z-E-R-T received EXCLUSIVE rights to premiere WWZ at a private theater the night before its nationwide theater release.......and everyone there received calendar marketing and over half bought one on the pre-sale even before the promo shoot. Oh...and by the way, the calendar will be featured in at least one upcoming major television network reality show. We can't wait until we are allowed to announce it!
Why do some of your rewards include the opportunity for "training" ?
Z.E.R.T. fosters a friendly and safe environment for people from all walks of life and backgrounds to interact, learn and train together. The Zombie Apocalypse theme is a bridge to many people who otherwise may not seek out traditional training courses. Through being a part of Z.E.R.T. they are exposed to many different opportunities for enhancing their skills. Participation in Z.E.R.T. training courses also creates safe students with a foundation in the basics that can be applied to courses and activities anywhere in the shooting/training world.
Each Z.E.R.T. member can take it as far as they wish to go, at their own pace with the emphasis being on a safe fun experience for all involved. Join Z.E.R.T.to start your journey to being ready for when your own personal Zombie Apocalypse happens. Plus its a hell of a lot of fun!
Risks and challenges
No project is without risks. Ours is no different. To mitigate and eliminate risk, 32 Celsius and Z.E.R.T. have meticulously planned and budgeted this project with contingency plans for virtually anything you can think of.
Risk #1: What if you don't have enough money to produce the calendars?
To maximize our success and minimize cost, we have done a vast majority of the calendar development prior to launching the Kickstarter project. We have pricing quotes from the printers and the graphic designers that made the awesome renderings you see are on our project team. We don't have to outsource much of the project so we know our budget is accurate. We also launched the pre-sale website to cover the costs of incidentals and travel between now and the completion of the Kickstarter project.
Risk #2: Has 32 Celsius ever done this before?
We haven't produced a Zombie Calendar before. However, we have a track record of building successful businesses and completing similar projects. Our partner in printing and delivering the calendar is the largest calendar marketing agency in the United States, they are trusted as specialists by some of the world’s most successful corporate and cause brands including Porsche, Chevron, Napa Auto Parts, and Make a Wish foundation.
In short, the project is at the 5 yard line and we need to complete the Kickstarter project to cover the cost of the photo shoot, makeup, prosthetics and the printing. We are ready to pull the trigger, we just need your help before we can do so.
