About this project
Show off your hacking skills and prove that you have what it takes to be the next Supreme Super Hacker by proxy swapping your way to victory. Shield yourself from your opponents by using protection cards, hack into government facilities to gain the most points, all whilst avoiding Hacker Jail! No real world hacking skills necessary!
You begin the game by passing out all of the cards and as you play your cards, you execute your hacks by placing the card face out in your hand or out in front of you on the table. But be careful, once you’ve executed your hacks, your opponents know your secrets and can hack the cards right back into your hand. Don’t have the hacks you need to impress the Supreme Super Hacker? Just proxy swap your unwanted cards for any of your fellow hacker's cards! You can also proxy swap your opponent’s cards just to create havoc. You're a rad hacker, after all!
How a Turn Works:
STEP 1 – EXECUTE A HACK
Flip one of your opponent’s public hacks to be private, returning it to their hand.
Flip one of your private hacks in your hand public, face-up on the table.
STEP 2 –RESOLVE EFFECTS
Read the executed hack out loud and resolve its effects. If you chose to execute an opponent’s hack, the effects resolve as if YOU played the card yourself.
STEP 3 – CHECK HACKER CRED TO LOSE/WIN
If any hacker has the maximum number of government hacks public, they must immediately go to Hacker Jail, even if the hacker has enough cred to win. If there is only one player not in Hacker Jail, that player is the winner. The hacker whose public cred value is equal to or more than the winning cred wins the game. If there is more than one, the hacker with the highest cred wins. The winning cred depends on the number of hackers starting the game as shown in the table above and does not change if hackers are thrown into Hacker Jail.

Shipping is pretty straightforward; every pledge includes free worldwide shipping, except for the Rad Fast Tier. (Details on that tier are below.)
We're planning on using Send From China for fulfillment.
The VAT threshold in the EU is roughly $23 USD and the base game is well below that, so you should not have to pay any import fees or taxes. Please be aware that pledges with add-ons may cause your pledge to go over this limit and incur fees or taxes. If you believe this assumption is incorrect, please do let us know! We would like this experience to be great for every backer.
Shipping for the Rad Fast Tier is different from the rest of the tiers; it includes free shipping for the United States and is $15 for all other countries. This is due to being shipped from within the United States.
There's several things that need to happen before Super Hack Override can arrive at your doorstep.
- The Kickstarter ends on October 13th!
- The Kickstarter payment needs to clear. This could take up to two weeks. During this time, we hope to get any art associated with stretch goals and certain pledge levels completed. (late October)
- Whatz Games gives an estimate of 40 - 50 days, upon getting the digital proofs. (mid December)
- Whatz Games will then ship to Send From China, which they estimate will take 7-10 days. (early January)
- Send from China will then start shipping to you! Timing will vary for different regions.
- We're tentatively adding three months to the schedule to cover unforeseen circumstances and if it shipment is delayed past Chinese New Year, it could be delayed even more.
How did we calculate the goal that we have? Easy! About 10% will go to Kickstarter, 67% will be used to manufacture Super Hack Override, and the remaining will be used to ship out rewards. All artwork and other misc. costs have been paid for, and therefore is not a factor in the goal.
Super Hack Override is the first project of Weird Giraffe Games. The company was founded by Carla Kopp, Nick Kopp, and Brent Thompson to create games that are easy to learn and play, but layered with strategy.
We designed Super Hack Override to fill a niche; specifically, we wanted a game that we could play while waiting in line. We started this idea by playing Love Letter in line. It started off normally, but then we were in a line that we had to stand up in and we decided to flip the discarded cards outwards in our hands, so we didn't need a discard pile. That was the start to the idea of Super Hack Override. A game that was enjoyable and you could take anywhere.

Risks and challenges
Super Hack Override has been designed, playtested, and the artwork is complete. If we meet any stretch goals, we would have to wait for that artwork to be completed, but it shouldn't be much of wait.
The biggest risk of this project is in the distribution and fulfillment phases, but we've chosen a fulfillment company and this is what they do. There's also risk in working with a manufacturing company, as we've never done that before, but we've been working closely with them getting quotes, so we hope there will be no issues when the time comes to manufacture the game.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
