Big Easy Busking is an area control game for 1-5 players about being the best street musicians in New Orleans, also known as The Big Easy. The game is played over three days (rounds), where players choose which crowds to entertain. Music takes time to play, so players decide on their next turn whether they're going to use all of their energy at their current location or to only use some of it to save the rest for later songs.
- Thematic Actions: Players are rewarded greatly for playing the songs that the crowd wants to hear and songs that your band members don't want to play require extra energy to play.
- Partially Known Information: While you know where the other musicians are playing, you're never quite sure how much energy the other players will use until the end of their next turn.
- Escalating Rounds: The game starts with three locations, but by the final round, there's five so players have to choose where to play wisely!
- Engaging Gameplay: Players determine how much energy to use at each location after seeing how other players play, so players must pay attention to what happens between their turns.

The Big Easy is a Nickname for New Orleans, USA, referring to the easy-going, laid back attitude to life that jazz musicians and local residents indulge in there.
Busking refers to the act of performing music on the streets for tips.

Big Easy Busking Overview
In Big Easy Busking, you are a band of three musicians in New Orleans hoping to hit it big. Your goal is to have the most tips at the end of three nights, or rounds, of gameplay. You earn tips through winning over specific crowds, matching the songs you play to the mood of the crowd, and playing for a variety of crowds.
Playing a Song
If you want to play a song, you need to have the energy that's listed on the card for each of your three band members.
You can also choose to play the standard songs that everyone knows, but these come at a cost! However, they can also give you some special abilities that can help you become the best band in all of New Orleans. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money, as they say.
Finish Playing Your Song
Now, the most important part of the game.... You actually have to finish playing the songs that you start. Songs take time to play, so you'll have to wait until your next turn to finish your songs. This is helpful, as you get to see where everyone else has played their songs before you make the decision on whether to give the song your all and really impress the crowd or to hold back a bit and only put in the minimum amount of energy.
If you hold back, you can take the energy that you would have used during the song and redistribute it to your band members, so you can win over a different crowd with your tunes.
Big Easy Busking gets really interesting when the songs match the mood of the crowd. If the mood matches, you get the choice of either putting all your energy into the song and really impressing the crowd, which earns you $1 immediately OR you can put in less energy and redistribute the rest of your energy to your band members. This allows you to fake out your opponents or change your mind based on what other players do on their turns.
During each night, players go around to different crowds playing songs, learning new songs, and tipping their band members. When they want to call it a night, they pass and can start preparing for the next day.
The winner is the player that has the most money at the end of the third round!
If playing the game solo, you simply choose a Robot Band to play against and start the game! The Robot Band has quick turns and makes the game a race to the finish line. There's three different Robots to fight against, each of them taking on a different player strategy.

The Deluxe Edition has 35 sleeves as we might have some promotional songs in the future. The custom meeples are used in place of the cubes as your energy tokens. The custom meeples don't change the game, they just upgrade the components a bit, for those who want the extra special addition to the game.
Name a Song or Band
These reward levels give you the deluxe edition of the game AND lets you name either a song or band in the game. These names are subject to approval, as we want to make sure the names are both family friendly and fit on the cards.
The band names will be used on the three band cards that are used in the solo version of the game. Each band has a different personality, so they should each have a different name, as well.
The song names will be added to the bottom of the song cards. These can be only a song name or a song name with an artist.
These reward levels allow you make your mark on Big Easy Busking and to have the game mean a bit more to you. We love having rewards like this, as it makes the game more meaningful to us to know more about you.
People sometimes wonder why they should back a Kickstarter campaign instead of waiting to get the game later in retail. The most important reason not to wait with Big Easy Busking is that even if Big Easy Busking funds, we currently don't know if Big Easy Busking will go into distribution. If you wait, you may end up missing out, as we won’t have many extra copies to sell and unless your local store backs the campaign, they won’t be carrying it either.
- Kickstarter Limited – Big Easy Busking might be very hard to find after the campaign, outside of select conventions.

If you've gotten this far, you are seriously considering supporting us and we really appreciate that. We also want you to know that we take this very seriously.
Although we have already successfully funded and delivered multiple projects on Kickstarter, Big Easy Busking will have it's own unique issues. We would love if everything went smoothly, but we are also trying to be prepared for any problem that could arise.
Big Easy Busking will be manufactured by a reputable company (Longpack) but international shipping always has the potential for delays and complications.
If things run behind schedule, we think the best approach is to always be up front and communicative with backers. It's our goal to make post-campaign updates part of this experience and we plan to update monthly until the game has shipped to backers in order to keep backers informed of the progress of Big Easy Busking.
There's a chance that fulfillment of Big Easy Busking will get delayed and we might sell copies of Big Easy Busking before fulfillment has been completely finished.
