Savlonic are back in the studio, excited to be starting on the third album. With your help we have been able to put together two really good, very different albums, and we're asking for that help again. If you don't know us we are the brainchild of the team at Weebl's Stuff, initially a cartoon band that we could make a few songs with, but over the years this project has grown into something much bigger. We've done gigs, made singles, produced covers albums, and here we are a few years in and still hungry to get back into the studio again.
The new album is going to take the synthwave sound of Neon and twist it in a Savlonicy way. With the first album, Red, we were finding who we were as a band, we made some silly songs about topics we thought were fun. The second album, Neon, we had a definite concept that we wanted to work through, the band as warriors. This time we want to use the more mature sound we developed for Neon, and make something brand new out of that, still using the sensibilities of our earlier stuff.
Our fan base is incredibly important to us, we simply would not exist without you. So we've come up with a few new reward ideas that should whet your appetites. Some great formats, beautiful artwork and well thought out merchandise will finish everything off. We'll be making this album from scratch again, which is always fun but slightly nerve wracking. Having said that, the studio sessions we've done so far have been really productive. We'll also be making a music promo to go with the new album, we've already spoken to several animators to make this happen.
Risks and challenges
Our main issues will again be that we're making this album from nothing, which involves a lot of studio time coming up with the ideas for the songs. We already have lots of tracks to work with so this will help that side of things.
As usual the distribution can be tricky. We have the same logistics team as last time, they managed it really smoothly so this time it should all go to plan. All the merchandise has been lined up with companies we know and trust, nothing is coming from overseas, that can really drag out the process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
