Just two weeks until Shadowrun: Hong Kong arrives! As we're wrapping things up here, we wanted to share one more thing real quick - some of the awesome work that our art team has been doing for SR:HK's revamped Matrix. Check it out below!

What's more, our composer Jon Everist has composed all-new Matrix music to go along with the new look. You can take an early listen here:

So that's how the new Matrix looks and sounds, but how does it play? Well, we've revised a lot of Matrix systems and added some really fun new stuff such as Watcher IC and Blocker IC which really ramp up the tension of diving into cyberspace and provide a much greater variety of gameplay than before. We'd love to go into more detail but - every minute we can spend testing and polishing the game right now is vital. We hope to tell you more about Matrix gameplay in the coming weeks, or you can see it for yourself on August 20th!

One other thing - we know everyone's anxious to get their keys, so we also want to let you know we're in the process of getting keys and other rewards into your BackerKit accounts. Watch for an update soon announcing that they're available, and for a general status update on the various Kickstarter rewards.

      Looks awesome. For as long as you keep pumping good games with good, rich story and characters and improving upon older designs/mechanics (like DMS->DF DC) I will keep supporting you guys.

      Can't wait to get into HK and already looking forward to next project.

      Wow, the sculpted system and the animated Watcher IC (?) look really good. Great to see the level of variety in SRHK Matrix gameplay! And it even has some atmospheric new music to go with it.

      @gizban: I remember one run (The AG Chemie run where you need to get the MKVI Prototype), where the team faced some Deckers, that were both in the Matrix and the meat space. You could either shoot them or fight them off in the matrix to prevent them from hacking the prototype (I did both, because it's never wise to rely on one plan only ;-)

      The matrix looks great!

      Are we going to see enemy deckers inside the matrix in Hong Kong? In dragon fall, I don't remember seeing enemy deckers who were also present in meat space. I really liked the mission in Dead Man's Switch where you could either defeat the decker in the matrix or kill him in meat space, which removes him from the matrix.

      Looks great! I loved the matrix in the original games and this looks even more immersive. Can't wait to see how you've enhanced the systems, and I love the idea of visually unique locations.

      Ooh, roaming sensors? I could be wrong, but it felt like the I spent all my time in the Matrix locked into turn-based mode. Do we get to wander freely more this time?

      Fantastic update - matrix looks & sounds amazing. Also.. so pumped for BattleTech. Given HBS track record - it's going to be a day one instant back!! :D

      Personally, I don't want tense, heart-pumping music for combat. I want to feel in control as I defeat my enemies. Especially in a slower paced turn-based game.

      There are definitely games where I muted the music in the boss level because the tense music was effecting my performance that much (and getting really annoying). So in my own opinion, this sounds pretty good :)

      The combat sound track doesn't sound much like combat to me. Too calm. No tension. Even volume. No pronounced rhythm.

      The new Matrix looks slicker than old one. I also like the new enemy designs and unique aesthetic of that Sculpted System. And is that stealth gameplay I see? ;)

      Can't say I am too excited about having to stealth around in the Matrix. Stealth in the SR engine has been clunky... I hope you'll be able to enter turn-based mode for stealth at least.

      Drow my jaw would have dropped more, but I had just watched the multi-crew Star Citizen demo first, which well and truly disconnected my jaw.

      Hong Kong is looking & sounding awesome, roll on the end of the month!
