We have teamed up with artisans in Central America to offer one of the most unique and stylish ways to carry your cash, cards and electronic devices. Our product the WeaveSleeve is made from 100% handwoven material, so each and every one of them is a piece of art. We transform that art into something that you'll be able to carry with you wherever you go.
Durability - The fabric used in making WeaveSleeves is hand woven. It's thick, yet pliable, offering enough protection without the bulk.
Stylish -- (What we are most excited about) -- The possibilities with the color and look of the fabric we are using are endless! Each of our WeaveSleeves gives you a look that is catchy and unique. We put a lot of thought into the color choices. There are enough color choices to surely capture your individual tastes. We have classy, we have bright, we have wild, we have something for you.
Low Profile - One of the things that the majority of those testing our product wanted was something that wasn't bulky, but was still big enough to carry around the essentials. The WeaveSleeve is just that! We took a minimalist approach with our design and couldn't be happier with the feedback we've been getting from those who have tested our prototypes.
Our first creation was the WeaveSleeve Wallet. We found that the biggest things people were concerned about were simplicity, having a couple pockets with proper orientation and having something to secure cards, cash and maybe a key in place. We listened and brought it all together to become what we know as the WeaveSleeve Wallet.
Each color design pictured below comes in a wallet, phone, and tablet WeaveSleeve. The Embroidered Flag Line and Team Super Tramp designs are only offered for the wallets.
For those that select a Wallet WeaveSleeve, you'll be able to pick your favorite weave and pair it with your favorite color of elastic band. With over 50 different weaves and 14 colors of elastic bands, there are over 800 possible color combinations for the wallets (812 to be exact!)

EMBROIDERED TEAM SUPERTRAMP WALLET WEAVESLEEVE
Over 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to live in Guatemala. I lived there for 2 years, and I fell in love with the culture and the people. It was incredible to live in a place where the culture was so rich and so visible through what the people wore and how they lived their lives. The textiles used to make authentic Guatemalan clothing is rich with colors and stunning in appearance. But the thing that struck me the most was the fact that these beautiful fabrics were handwoven, a tradition that had been passed down from generation to generation.
When I returned home from living there, I always had a desire to get back there and team up with artisans to create something that not only would be appreciated by the end consumer, but ultimately help support the people I grew to love. I have been fortunate to travel to Guatemala over a dozen times during the last 10 years and I noticed that even though the culture is still abundant, it isn't as dominant as it was when I lived there.
During one of my visits about two years ago, I was spending time with some Guatemalan families I've grown close to and we began talking about weaving. All the women in these families know how to weave, but when I asked if they were teaching their children none of them replied in the affirmative. They simply said that it wasn't profitable to weave and their time was dedicated to doing other things that could provide a living, so they hadn't passed on the tradition to their children by teaching them.
When I left from that visit I thought long and hard about that conversation. It was troubling to know that the Guatemala that I knew and grew to love over a decade ago was changing, and that a country so culturally rich was in danger of losing that uniqueness. The wheels in my head started turning, trying to come up with something to help preserve their culture.
Over the last two years, I have made several trips to Guatemala specifically working on a way to help these people sustain themselves by weaving. I realized that selling unaltered pieces of handwoven textiles or table runners wasn't going to be the answer. I needed to reach a larger demographic, and that's where WeaveSleeve stemmed from. We take their handwoven art and transform it into handwoven sleeves to carry around everyday things.
Not only do WeaveSleeves help preserve a culture, they also help to show off each person's own uniqueness. By offering over 50 color choices, you can finally carry something with you every single day that more closely fits your own style.
WITH THE SUCCESSFUL FUNDING OF OUR PROJECT, WE WILL HAVE THE CAPITAL TO TAKE OUR PROJECT FROM PROTOTYPE TO PRODUCTION. THE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO BUY ALL THE MATERIALS NEEDED TO MAKE EACH WEAVESLEEVE, PAY THE ARTISANS WHO WILL WEAVE THEM, COVER ALL SHIPPING COSTS, PURCHASE AN INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE THAT WILL SPEED UP THE WORK, AND DEVELOP A WEBSITE.
- Surveys will be sent out to all backers to obtain all the information needed to start the work within a few days of the project ending.
- Elastic band and thread will be purchased for the first batch of WeaveSleeves.
- We will have our team in Central America start the weaving.
- Those backers who selected the reward to design their own WeaveSleeve Wallet will be contacted immediately after the project funding period so we can nail down their design and have it woven.
- A member of our team will travel down to Central America to oversee the quality control of the handwoven fabric and start shipping it back when it becomes available.
- Upon arrival here in Utah, we will cut out the fabric and elastic band and start assembling WeaveSleeves.
- First priority will be to fulfill the EARLY BIRD
reward levels and fulfill the rewards for those
designing their own weaves.
WeaveSleeves will start to ship out so that those Early Bird backers that were promised
their reward, along with the designer reward backers, will receive their reward by month's end.
- As more of the hand woven fabric arrives, more WeaveSleeves will be produced and shipped out.
- This month's priority is to fulfill ALL OTHER REWARD LEVELS. These backers will receive their WeaveSleeves this month.
- Although it says estimated delivery for all other rewards that aren't Early Birds will be in March, we will definitely start finishing some of the WeaveSleeves in this group before then, and they will ship out when complete.
EVERYONE WILL NOW BE A PROUD NEW OWNER OF A WEAVESLEEVE, AND WILL BE ABLE TO SHOW OFF THEIR OWN STYLE EVERY TIME THEY PULL IT OUT AND USE IT!
STAY IN THE LOOP WITH WEAVESLEEVE! AFTER ALL, YOU'RE PART OF THE FAMILY NOW!

We especially want to thank Devin Graham and his YouTube channel DevinSuperTramp along with his team for helping capture the beauty of Guatemala and telling the story of WeaveSleeve through videos released on their channel. Their passion is contagious and something we've loved having during the making of this project. Click below and check out more of their work:
A huge shout out to Scott & Brendo for letting us use their instrumental version of "Kitten Air" and to Mike Johnson of Endless Photography for helping out with product shots. To check out more music by Scott and Brendo, and more work by Endless Photography, click the pictures below:
Risks and challenges
We are so excited to get this project going and be able to get a WeaveSleeve in your hands! Whether you'll be using a WeaveSleeve to carry your cash and cards or your tablet or phone, we can promise you that you'll love expressing your style everyday with a quality product.
This project wouldn't be possible without the help and support from you as backers, and we want you to know how very appreciative we are for your support. We want to make sure we fulfill our part and pull through with what we promise you. We have taken a lot of time to plan for and identify things that might keep the project from running as smooth as it can. We are confident that the time spent on setting things up and lining up the necessary people to carry out the project will assure a streamlined process. In the event that we are over funded and receive a large number of orders, we have other weavers and seamstresses ready to jump in and be a part of our project. They are actually hoping for that, they would love to add their skill set to our existing team!
If there is anything that occurs that might slow down the process of production, we will be 100% transparent with you as backers and let you know what's going on with every step of the process. We consider each of you part of the WeaveSleeve family and are extremely humbled and grateful for the support. We want you to know that we are 100% committed to you.
Now it is time to get this thing going! Help us by being a backer and spreading the word, and we will reward you by putting the most unique, stylish and personalized accessory into your hands.....The WeaveSleeve!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
