New Website, More Smooth Sailing Trousers, and Update for E-Pattern Backers

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to check in and let you know I have a brand new website that combines the clothing line and my sewing patterns.

So you can now find me at

I've still got to get the old sites to re-direct, but that's where you can now find both the patterns and the clothing.

- Smooth Sailing Trousers and Clothing Line News -

The Smooth Sailing trousers for ready to wear have been a hit!  We're almost sold out already (only about 3 pairs left in stock) and more have been ordered.  So if you didn't get in on the first round, you can pre-order now on my website.  You'll get them shipped to you as soon as I get them in stock.

I've also started working on new things!  If you saw me at Inspiration L.A. or Dapper Day, you got a sneak peek at a few new things.  They're still in progress and will be a smaller run than the Kickstarter collection, but I'm hoping for a couple of new pretty things to be on the website in Spring.

And the Maisie dresses are in stock, but a reminder that those are very limited edition!  We only had about 35 made, and no more are getting made. So if you had your eye on it, might want to save and snag one before they're gone!

- E-Pattern Backers -

For e-pattern backers who have not yet claimed your reward:  Please use the same code provided via Kickstarter messages on the new site to claim your e-patterns.  Since the old pattern site is no longer, all that info is now on

- E.U. Resident E-Pattern Backers -

If you backed for e-patterns and are in the E.U. (European Union), please note that you can't check out for e-patterns on the new site.  If you message me through Kickstarter with your email address and what pattern(s) you want for your reward, let me know and I'll email the files to you.  The new digital VAT regulations prevent me from being able to sell e-patterns on the new site.  But for future reference, E.U. residents can check out for future e-pattern transactions on Etsy, because they collect and remit VAT for me due to the new regulations (the code for Kickstarter is not active on Etsy, so make sure you contact me directly so you can get your e-patterns you pledged for sent to you if you're in the EU.)

- Photo Contest -

I have a my first ever photo contest going on right now!  You can win up to $100 credit to Wearing History by submitting a photo review of you in something you bought from Wearing History Clothing or a pattern you sewed from Wearing History Patterns.  For more info on how to enter, click here.

Thanks, everyone!

The Maisie Dresses are Here! And That's a Wrap!

Hi everyone!

I'm very excited to let you know that I have received the Maisie dresses, and they look fabulous!

This is the very last item of clothing that was to be made as a result of the Kickstarter.  So, that's a wrap everyone!  Those who ordered packages that included the Maisie dress will be going out no later than next week.

Just so you know, we only had just over 30 of this dress made.  It was very expensive to produce (much more than we expected), so our stock is VERY limited.  That's awesome for those of you who pre-ordered!  You really do get a limited edition dress!

THANK YOU to everyone who made this happen!  I'm so, so thankful for your generous support and love and patience through this whole adventure.

So what's next?  Well, you can come visit me next weekend at Inspiration Los Angeles!  I'll have a booth there, and you can come visit, shop, and try on things in person (as long as we have stock left!  We're running out of some things).  The show has a strong presence of vintage workwear and denim, and high end vintage clothing, but also great small made in the USA companies, and I'm honored to be able to be present as a vendor.

We'll be there Feb 6 & 7.  Click on the image for more info.  Just so you know, the Vintage Fashion Expo is in the same building on Saturday, so if you come that day you can shop two events.  I'd love to meet you in person!  If you are able to come, make sure you say "hi" to me and tell me you were a Kickstarter backer.  I'd like to be able to say "Thank you" in person.

And what about new designs?  I'm puttering on a few new things, now that I finally have a little more time to think about things beyond the Kickstarter.  We're still in the baby stage, and the Kickstarter amount was actually less than we really needed when all was said and done, even though we went over the initial goal amount.  There were lots of lessons learned in the background, but we made it!!  I'm so thrilled! I'm considering doing future pre-orders, or possibly another Kickstarter when we want to add more things.  I've heard from a few of you that you'd be willing to do that for more clothes since you loved the ones you got so much.

So what can you do to help keep this going?  Share, share, share!  If you pre-ordered clothing, I'd LOVE to see your blog posts, Facebook posts, etc showing how you style your new Wearing History Clothing pieces.  Spreading the word is the best way to grow, and your input has really made such a difference already.  I'd love to keep it going and not just be a one time thing, but we've gotta keep selling clothes if it's going to happen.

I feel so, so blessed and so thankful that you all made this opportunity happen.  I had a dream, but I didn't have the means.  You all, as a community, came in, backed me with your own hard earned money and your encouragement in other ways, and made this a reality.  I can't even begin to express how thankful I am for you.  I wish I had better words to express it.

That's all, folks!  THANK YOU!

Update for Maisie Backers

Posted by Lauren Maringola (Creator)

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year!

Just a quick update on those who ordered the Maisie dress, or any package that contained it.

Our sewing folks were closed for the holidays and are finally back at it, so today I finally picked up the second sample of Maisie in the new Tencel fabric. Looks SO GOOD!

The rest of the graded patterns go to them Monday, and they should have a better estimate for me then on when they'll actually be finished, but I did ask if they could be finished by the end of the month, and they said they think so.  The fabric delays, then unexpected longer waiting list at our sewing folks pushed these back, so I THANK YOU for your patience.

You can bet, as soon as I get the finished garments in my hands they will be off to you.  I'll let you know when that will be when I find out more info.  Just wanted to check in and say I haven't forgotten you!  Still working here like a busy bee, but things are coming together.

Thanks a bunch!

Updates on Shipments

Posted by Lauren Maringola (Creator)

Just a quick check in to let you know that 97% of Kickstarter rewards have been filled or shipped.  So if you pre-ordered anything other than a package that contains the Maisie dress, your rewards have been filled, with the exception of one sash/turban survey response that still hasn't come back and one reward that was requested to ship after the new year.

So, YAY!  Thanks so much everyone!  Just 10 rewards left to fill out of 357.

If you've received your rewards, don't forget to let me know what you think by leaving a review on my website, or sending me a photo, if you can.  I LOVE seeing and hearing your thoughts, and have been super blessed by your excellent reviews!

Thanks so much for supporting me!  Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year if I don't check in with you before then!

I just want to take an extra moment here to say thank you to all of my backers.

I know the holiday season is always crazy busy, but your contribution to my Kickstarter has made 2014 the year when dreams come true for me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.  From the bottom of my heart, each and every one of you have blessed me so much with your support.

I hope you have a very blessed and very happy holiday season.  Merry Christmas from me and my family.  XO
