We Are All Savages is a Brooklyn, NY based hardcore/sludge/doom metal band. Our debut LP, This Place is Death, is ready to be pressed and we need your help! This record was engineered by Brendan Tobin (Bad Powers, Titan) at Ice Cream Audio in Brooklyn and mastered by Brad Boatright (From Ashes Rise, OFF!, High on Fire, Sleep) at Audioseige in Portland, Or.. Mark McCormick (Red Fang, YOB) has put together the visual component of our record’s packaging, complementing our music.
All we need now is to press it on vinyl and print sleeves. The money from this Kickstarter will help us make a small-run (200 total!), one-time pressing of vinyl with awesome printed record sleeves.
We live in an age where music is streamed and shared using digital files. As a band, we love vinyl. It's the best way to hear music, hands down. The grooves cut into record are the actual sound waves that were created in the studio. You can't see that in a file! We want to produce a vinyl record that you can hold in your hands, as a tangible piece of work.
Where's this funding going? Funding is going to the vinyl and sleeve production of the record. The tracks have been mixed and mastered, and the art work is already done, but funding is necessary to get our album out to you. We want to make it clear that we aren't making a profit on making these records. All costs within our Kickstarter goal are going to the production of the record.
Curious of what we sound like?

This is a labor of love that we want you to be part of! We have a few ideas if we go beyond our $1,700:
$1850 will allow us to produce a 2-color silkscreen of our record's album sleeve, professionally printed.
$2000 will be used for a 3-color silkscreen print of the record sleeve.
$2100 will allow us to produce record sleeves printed on heavy dark french paper with two-color metallic ink.
If we go beyond $2,100, we may have enough to press limited color vinyl!
Thanks for taking the time to visit our Kickstarter campaign. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Risks and challenges
As anyone familiar with DIY music knows, record release schedules can be unpredictable. Record plants and printing presses have full schedules, as does the post office and shipping companies. Weather can also cause havoc on getting records from the band to your front door. Regardless, we've added padding to our schedule to compensate for these unforeseen events. This means that the record and other rewards will come out in 2014.
If setbacks do arise after the completion of funding, We Are All Savages will keep pledgees informed with updates on the progress of our project. It will be our responsibility to track down where our records and sleeves are...and we'll definitely keep you in the loop.
