RPerl v1.0 Released!

3 likes

Greetings Loyal RPerl Backers,

After over 2.5 years of work, I'm very proud to (finally) announce the full release of RPerl v1.0 on CPAN!

Installation should now be as simple as:

$ cpan RPerl

OR

$ cpanm RPerl

For more information about install options, please see:
https://github.com/wbraswell/rperl/blob/master/INSTALL

As outlined in step 3 of the install notes file, we can now automatically compile our test program and see speed improvements of approximately 170x to 350x, depending on your system.

As usual, the RPerl technical team is in #perl11 on irc.perl.org so don't hesitate to reach out if you need help or have any questions. Let the bug reports begin! :-)

We've come a long way, and we've got a long way to go yet, this is just barely the beginning!

Perling,

~ Will the Chill, rperl.org & austin.pm

We continue to make progress toward a full RPerl v1.0 release, we've been temporarily slowed down while we start a new software development company and get our first customer squared away.

All rewards have been mailed out, please contact me ASAP if you have not yet received your reward in the mail.  You may want to put your Code Coin notes in a safe place...

I am delighted to report that RPerl will be featured in the Google Summer Of Code, thanks to The Perl Foundation!

T-shirts and bumper stickers: away!

Howdy patient backers!

T-shirts and bumper stickers are now being driven, flown, or beam-transported to their destinations.  One only has to go cross-town, but a few have to go halfway around the world.

Thank you to all of our RPERL supporters.  You will be happy to know that your generous donations are keeping the electricity on and our mugs full of strong coffee as we code through the nights!

Program Happy,

Will Braswell and the RPERL team

Howdy RPerl Benefactors,

Thanks to the Kickstarter campaign, we are moving forward with RPerl development, and have already attracted interest from several large and important companies.  We will share more about these developments as they unfold.

Also, if you opted to receive a t-shirt or bumper sticker, we expect these to be shipping very soon.  The paper cranes are already in the mail.

Thank you for your patience and continued interest in RPerl!
