At the beginning of May, we tentatively asked: More Nuka Break? You responded with hundreds of overwhelmingly positive comments. Look, Waysiders – we live to serve. After season two, we thought we were done with Nuka Break. Even though fans of the series asked ravenously about season three, we thought, “No… the story is over.” And it is over. That story, anyway. But there are some stories still left untold…
WE DID IT!
To our backers and fans: you have made this an incredible run. Thank you!
The Kickstarter campaign may be over, but it’s never too late to get involved. You can still support us (and receive perks!) by contributing to Nuka Break via PayPal.

Home, Home on the Ranger
We’ve hinted at his back story, but the time has come to explore the man behind the gasmask. This Tale from the Wasteland, set in the world of the critically-acclaimed series Fallout: Nuka Break, will follow the Ranger and his encounters with the Scorpion.
With your help, we’ll finally be able to tell the Ranger’s story in full.
Spinning the Yarn
The Ranger’s story will be shot in a similar format to Wayside’s short Red Star. This wouldn’t be possible without fans who have been so loyal to the Nuka Break series. Because of that, we want to make this a true collaboration. We plan to poll backers for input that will be implemented during production. Above all, we believe in making content that out fans want to see.
The length and depth of the story will be determined by the success of the Kickstarter – with the story currently in development, nothing is set in stone yet. And yes: stretch goals mean unlocking new perks, too!
The Usual Suspects
Cameron Diskin and Erik Denton with reprise their roles as the Ranger and the Scorpion, respectively. Several other Nuka Break faces with make appearances – but we won’t ruin the surprise.
We’re also pleased to announce that Britanni Johnson (Borderlands 1 & 2) has joined the cast.
Roger Nall (writer, Red Star) is currently penning the post-apocalyptic screenplay, and Vincent Talenti (director, Nuka Break season 1 & 2 and Red Star) will lead us back into the wasteland at a charge. As a matter of fact, we’re very happy to say that other returning Nuka Break crew members include the special effects team, costume makers, composer, sound designers, and the director of photography. No ZAX supercomputers here!
The Nuka Break Legacy
Since our initial fan film in 2011, we’ve produced two seasons of Fallout: Nuka Break, as well as the award-winning short Red Star. Together, they total over 100 minutes of content that has been viewed more than 8 million times. Fans have contributed over $150,000 toward keeping Nuka Break alive. Even Chris Avellone and Tim Cain (story developers, original Fallout game) have gotten involved in crafting the Nuka Break story.

Some Final Thoughts
If you’d like to see this become a reality as much as we do, please get involved and share this project with everyone you know. Spread the work via Facebook/Twitter/video game forums/blogs/new outlets/skywriting… or any other place you think will help raise awareness. Don’t forget, Kickstarter has some great “share” options right under the video. Once more unto the Wasteland, friends!
Risks and challenges
All independent filmmakers can expect the usual risks and delays. Common delays during a production are attributed to location and talent scheduling conflicts. We will counteract these by spending a considerable amount of time in pre-production, working out all the details before we begin shooting.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
