Craig and I are back from Baltimore Comic-Con—our first trip there—and we had a great time meeting everyone, including a number of our longtime backers! I really like that fact that now I have faces to attach with the familiar names.

Getting face-to-face feedback on the books (and the campaigns) was also a plus. People really seem to love our "home grown" Artist's Editions and we look forward to doing approximately one a year for the foreseeable future—although we will definitely be spacing them out a bit more after The Selfish Giant and Other Stories.

A lot of folks also missed out on the Selfish Giant book because we went against tradition and did the initial campaign on Indiegogo—and longtime backers that I spoke with all said that they prefer Kickstarter in pretty much every way—so in the future we will be going that route with most of the launches.

We'll also be running a Kickstarter campaign for The Selfish Giant and Other Stories to give folks who missed out a second chance to pre-order the book at a special price. (Because of extra production costs—including the price of having all of the art hand-lettered by the great Galen Showman for enhanced readability—retail price for the Standard Edition hardcover will be $150. Fortunately, you will be able to pre-order it via the catch-up campaign for only $100.) Look for the campaign this coming November—to receive an instant email notification when it goes "live" you can sign up for our newsletter via wahprods.com.

Now the bad news: Schlepping around over 3 tons of Salome books have taken a toll on my lower back and it's looking like I may have a slipped (herniated) disc. My back went out on Tuesday and it's so bad that I've gotten stuck down on the floor a few times. I'm pretty sure that it's not just a standard pulled or strained muscle—when I move a certain way it feels like I'm being stabbed with a butcher knife—but I’m going to try to rest for a day or two to hope that it improves before I head in for X-Rays, etc.

I had hoped to get all Salome/Jungle Book Standard Edition combos shipped out this week, followed by the Signature Editions, but I’m most likely not going to be able to resume until after this weekend. I apologize in advance for the additional delay!

Best,
WAH

Huzzah (not about your back, Wayne, that sounds terrible and painful). Hopefully I can catch The Selfish Giant this time around. My finances are much more limited than my acquisitive desires!
