What Is Whome?
As a new interactive media system, Whome consists of three parts: the Whome app, the Whome multi-room hardware management system and the Whome bulb. Our Whome bulb is both a light bulb and a speaker. You can sync your Whome bulb to play a wide variety of colors to music. Just like the products Hue and Lifx, the Whome bulb provides a 16m full color gamut, and supports 256 adjustable lights. We chose Cree bulbs for our light displays to ensure that this product is both durable and high quality. Whome is suitable as a head lamp, an atmosphere lamp and reading lamp.
Of course, Whome, Hue and Lifix have completely different functions. The Whome bulb comes with a speaker unit with broad frequencies and a 2 inch, 10W bulb to blast your favorite songs. The module contains high-quality neodymium iron boron (aluminum vibration film).
Through all of this, the speaker can provide both high and low frequency sounds giving deep, crisp and clear sound. Whome also provides a high quality wireless communication module with communication speeds up to 150Mb. The wireless communication component uses the Atheros chip as the core, and has a double antenna design. Our device also conforms to the general 802.11 b/g/n wireless standards. Whome comes with an app that acts as your central command center. With the Whome app, you can control your music and lighting through Wi-Fi. The app will be available both on the Android and IOS markets. Through the Whome app, you can easily control your multi-room music lighting system. Users can also use the app to create custom color and music streaming patterns to share with friends.
With the dual Whome stereo speaker system, multiple Whome bulbs can be connected to the same device to create a dynamic background music system.
The appearance of the Whome was created by a globally famous independent team of designers. The design uses a diamond cutting style so the Whome display is both delicate and gorgeous. The lampshade uses UV paint with a top metallic paint. Whome bulbs come in gold, white, black, blue or red.
We chose Wifi because it seems to be that Bluetooth was never designed for enjoying music, and what a hassle to pair them each and every time. Wifi is based on radio waves that have been used to broadcast music for almost a century. Today you will be hard pressed to find modern homes without a wifi connection. Wifi can bridge much larger distances than Bluetooth. You can use wifi extenders to reach even further for large buildings. This higher transmission bandwidth and the transmission of lossless audio ensures better sound quality.
Whome uses a master/slave concept to connect to your home router via 802.11b/g/n. Each Whome can connect to all country electricity systems from 110V to 250V. This includes USA, Canada, EU, Australia and 95% of other countries around the world.
Through the Whome app, you can change the color of the light in real time to adjust your indoor atmosphere.
Whome contains a 2-inch 10W loudspeaker unit. Music can be played through your bulb by wirelessly accessing our app on your mobile phone or other smart devices.
Whome can manipulate lighting and music through one or several smart devices. Each room can be controlled independently from the other to play different music in different rooms. Or, if you want, you can play the same thing throughout each room.
The Whome original 'media' scene share function is the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram of music. Through our app, you can create mood text for your music as well as assign pictures and light displays to your music and then upload it to the Whome App forum. Through this, you can share your custom media with friends. Friends can download the compressed package through the Whome App to reproduce the color and music scene with their own Whome, and look at the pictures and the mood text you create.
Whome APP Video
Connect your Whome bulbs through Wi-Fi to your smart device and play your music through our Whome App. Using it is simple. Just download the "Whome" app in the appropriate app store and then search and connect to the region near your Whome bulb. Through our Whome app, you can wirelessly stream music that you have loaded onto your smart device. Whome supports Airplay/DLNA audio streaming/sharing protocols. Whome App supports SoundCloud and Grooveshark, we are working on integration with other cloud music sources like Spotify and Songza. In the future, users can upload their own music to whome cloud. The Whome app also allows you to create custom arrangements of color, text and light through a file you can save called a 'Media Scene.'
Even without programming, you can set up event-driven signaling through IFTTT, so your Whome can let you know what's happening across any of 300+ different online services by light or sound.
We will be releasing a Whome Software Development Kit that will allow PC/mobile App developers and home automation hackers full control over their Whome. This includes using a small scripting engine that runs within the Whomebulbs. Please stay tuned for more details.
Speaker Module Sound Quality
Whome Music display(FLAC APE)
In designing the speakers we were faced with an extremely complex predicament: how to create a functional speaker in such a small space while avoiding heat issues. Using just the standard traditional designs of the day, we would not have been able to achieve the level of quality that we wanted in our product while controlling heating issues at the same time. We did not want to sacrifice quality for convenience so we decided to create our own unique design to solve the heat issues and still provide excellent sound quality.
We use a heat resistant material of the highest quality from the world's top speaker manufacturer that is able to stand up to Whome’s heating demands. The Whome speaker cavity contains a part aluminum and part heat resistant material that functions consistently in temperatures under 100 ℃. At the same time, the speaker comes with a rising vibration basin that can effectively reduce the horn effect . This ensures the best sound quality. In order to make the small speakers with enough bass capability, we made a special alignment of module. Now, we are proud to tell you that we have created an outstanding music speaker module that can provide us with a new 80Hz~20KHz range of sound.

Risks and challenges
We have spent the past year perfecting and finishing this product. We have invested over ￡200,000.00 to get this far. We are almost ready to release this product to the world. We just need your help to get the Wavebomb Whome finalized and into production. If we can pre-sell just 1000 units we can make it happen!
Engineering, designing, procuring components, scheduling production time from factories and authorization etc. are all major hurdles when bringing a new product into the marketplace. Fortunately, our team is used to this. We have overcome difficulties every day to bring us closer to our dreams and goals.
1. Achieve our funding goal so that we can cover fixed costs associated with manufacturing these devices while also trying to meet our stretch goals.
2. Produce hard tools for the Wavebomb Whome Enclosure.
3. Complete the production PCB design and order PCBs and components from our vendors.
4. Complete the packaging design and order packaging.
5. Complete CE certification.
6. Gain Apple’s authorization to use the MFI program. We feel confident that we can obtain authorization.
The biggest challenge is the potential delay from manufacturers. Delays in manufacturing are caused by many things. It is often difficult to maintain effective communications between our team and the factory owners. There are also limited amounts of resources that need to be operated on specific schedules which could affect quality or design. Sometimes manufacturers change their production schedule despite our best efforts to do otherwise.
The second challenge is obviously the finances. Only with help from the Kickstarter community, will we be able to realize our plan and deliver the best components, tooling, tone tuning, manufacturing, quality control and the best end product.
We are passionate about bringing this product to the market and are confident that we have the knowledge and the personnel to make this happen.
Thank you so much for your support!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
