@Function I moved recently and updated the survey. Is this going to go to my new address or not? I saw earlier in the comments that the survey would be closed on May 1st.

    2. cihuy039 il y a 7 jours

Hi creator, I'm just curious about progress of hardshell, you never mentioned until last updated. Only about interior, some pocket but you forget about this main feature of this bag that makes it different with other bags out there...

      Thanks

    3. Function Créateur le May 8

@CSMaNa thanks for your comment. We hoped this would be the case. Onward and upward!

    4. CSMaNa le May 8

Interesting update, i actually don't mind the delay as quality is more important to me than shipping time and I'm sure others agree.

    5. Function Créateur le May 7

Hey guys, our monthly update is coming out soon, thanks for waiting!

    6. CSMaNa le May 7

Also interested in an update please as it has been a long time.

Awesome update. I am so freaking pumped for this. Please ship mine asap :)

    11. Function Créateur le March 9

Hey Remy, the maximum dimensions that can fit in the laptop sleeve are L16" x W10.5" x D1.5" so tentatively yes, depending on the size of the bezel of your laptop.

    12. CSMaNa le March 6

Would the backpack fit a 15.6" laptop? Or is 15" the max

    13. Function Créateur le March 4

Also, we have an EXCITING UPDATE COMING SOON!! Hold tight.

    14. Function Créateur le March 4

@UY thanks for your question. You can change your address up until we close the surveys (May 1st, 2017). Here's a link to how you can do that: https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/backer+questions#faq_63017
      Cheers!

    15. Michael Dymond le February 26

If we have an address change from the time of the survey, who do we contact to get it to ship?

      Thanks!

    16. CSMaNa le February 16

Thanks for the reply! Looking forward for future updates :)

    17. Function Créateur le February 16

      Hi Remy,
I'll be making that video for you next week. The Ipad pocket specs fit the largest Ipad pro - (12.04 x 8.69 x 0.27 in). Thanks for your question.

    18. CSMaNa le February 16

ETA on video of hands on backpack tour? Also the second compartment says it fits an ipad pro, that would be the 9.7" version? Or would that include the bigger 12.9?

    19. Function Créateur le February 2

      Hi Mark,
Yeah! we could definitely look into that for the future. Thanks for your input and support!

      Dear Watsoneers,
I was wandering if in the future it would be possible to adjust the backpack or make an accessory to hang it on the rear carrier of my bike. This would make the perfect addition to this already amazing backpack, Mark

    21. Function Créateur le February 1

      Hi Chihuy039,

YES! The elevated shipping charge for countries outside of North America includes tax, duties, and VAT. No additional charges will be incurred by overseas backers. Cheers!

    22. cihuy039 le January 30

      Hello again,

In FAQ you said that shipping cost already include VAT. This mean we don't have to pay another tax & import duty?

      Thx...

    23. Function Créateur le January 30

      Hi Brad,

We're on track to ship in June, as promised. We'll keep you updated as we move forward (I think we might even ship early but shhhh).

      Cheers!

      Brad Gotto le January 30

any updates on when the bags will be shipped?

    25. Function Créateur le January 23

@Alex Rios: We totally agree that the comfort of the bag is paramount and that's why we didn't originally include the luggage pass - it's so comfortable you don't need/want to take it off! But this way we can satisfy both sides of the coin. Thanks so much for your support!

    26. Function Créateur le January 23

@mark: Thanks for the kudos! I'll se what we can do about the kevlar ;)
      @Mark Bachman: Thank you!

    27. Alex Rios le January 23

      Hi there!

Great project! I've being looking for this "definitive work backpack" for ages and it looks you nailed it.

I think that the feature of adding a strap to attach to a trolley could be a "nice-to-have" but nothing killer. The great advantage of a backpack is that you can wear it comfortably while dragging a trolley, not like when you're wearing a messenger bag that is moving around your shoulder and bugging you till the point you prefer to attach it to your wheeled luggage.

I'm looking forward to see the couple of Watsons I pledged for here in Barcelona :)

Can't wait to receive my Watson! Great product and project. Congrats!

    29. mark le January 21

Congrats on a successful campaign! Love the two additional features - exactly what I needed! I've been thinking of ordering a Kevlar sheet to slide inside the bag so I can use as a "shield". Wouldn't that be a cool feature to build into Watson 2.0?

    30. Function Créateur le January 21

Hi Frank, thanks for the kudos! Yes, the final version will have the "f."

    31. Frank le January 21

Can't wait to get the Watson! I love the two additional features!

Question regarding the monogram: will the final Version have the "f"? I know it's the sign for "function", but since my first name is Frank I'm debating to add the initials of my middle and last name.

    32. Function Créateur le January 20

      Hi Drake,

I'm sorry we made you feel jilted. But the reality is exactly as stated below. We strive to offer the best quality product at the best value and this was a misstep in the pursuit of that goal. Thanks for reaching out. - Valerie

    33. Drake Poole le January 20

Withdrawing my pledge, I pledged within the first hour of this going live, and they put up a much cheaper option ($187 less than "early bird") option halfway through? What the fuck? The very unsatisfactory answer provided below is just more salt in the wound.

    34. Function Créateur le January 20

      Hi James,

Thanks for your question. We have not included GPS tracking in this backpack.

We tested a number of trackers but the ones that had great GPS accuracy had a lot of drift in interior spaces (inaccuracies). And the highly effective interior trackers tend to be bluetooth and work best in a smaller area or where there are many other bluetooth users around (like Tile). In addition, most of these trackers involve a subscription service which we feel would over-complicate fulfillment on our first go around.

Thanks for your input. We'll keep looking for the right tracker to include down the road as I'd certainly like to be able to track Watson if ever it went missing!

    35. Avatar manquant

      James Yeoh le January 20

Does this backpack has a in-build GPS tracking? In case my backpack got stolen, So that I have a way to track it back?

    36. Function Créateur le January 20

@cihuy039 $350 was a typo. It should have said $450. You're backpack will be the same as the others. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for reaching out.

    37. cihuy039 le January 20

I pledged for USD 219. It said that retail price will be USD 350. But others said USD 450. Which one is correct? Or my backpack will be different from others?

    38. Function Créateur le January 20

      Hi Jan-Paul,
Yes, you can add additional rewards to your pledge after the campaign closes - either through our surveys or Backerkit depending on which we decide makes the most sense.

@creator Will you be allowing pledge adjustments at the end of the campaign, through a logistics manager such as BackerKit, to allow for changes such as additional bags to our pledges, or accessories should you decide to provide any?

    40. Function Créateur le January 20

      Hi Robin,

Yes, we can make it removable. Thanks for your input :)

      Robin Nordström le January 20

      Hi,

I'm sure many want the luggage pass-through (not me though). Would the design allow me to remove it without hurting the bag?

      Best Regards

      Hey Algadi,
Thank you so so much for your interest in Watson and your feedback. We're still learning and have definitely made some missteps as we find our feet. It's super helpful to hear from each of you as to how we can serve you best - more frequent updates, prompt inquiry response times, and upfront communication. It is my promise to uphold these requests going forward. All the best!

There is something disturbing about this campaign.. the lack of updates while still alive?!, The deficient support to address all inquiries and the shocking limited time offer that harmed most of early supporters whom were the reason for taking the project into the spotlight.. after more than a 56 days but I still can't feel comfortable..

      Good luck,

      David Eggleston le January 15

Thanks for the info. That sounds great! I look forward to replacing my current shoulder strap laptop bag with this pack!

    45. Function Créateur le January 14

      Hi David,
Thanks for your question! The opening and closing of the pack is guided by aluminium "rails" that sit on the inside walls of the bag and "arms" that extend from the front section and lock into the rails. This allows the opening section to move smoothly along a diagonal path that opens and closes. I know this is a bit obscure to visualize, so we'll be publishing an in-depth video walk-through of how Watson works and all the interior components in the coming weeks. Hope this helps!

    46. Avatar manquant

      David Eggleston le January 13

The pack looks like much thought went into many parts. I like the hiking pack influence. My question is about the hinge. Is it an actual hinge that the main "door" uses, or is it a strap?

    47. Function Créateur le January 9

      Hi Fabio,
Thanks for reiterating your feedback. We love hearing about all of the different use-cases for a backpack like ours - as they are more varied than we imagined! We're keeping the 3-digit lock and luggage pass-through on the back burner at this point (others can see FAQ for why that is) but you'll be the first to know if/when they get included.
      Cheers!

    48. Function Créateur le January 9

      Hey Remy,
Our hand samples are currently with manufacturers for replicating and testing. Creating that video is first on our list upon their return, but realistically it will be after the campaign ends. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience.

    49. Function Créateur le January 9

Hi Yana, thanks so much for your support and questions. I'm pumped that several ladies are digging Watson :)
      1. Bulkiness and silhouette was a big concern for us. To make sure the bag is as low-profile as possible while still fitting all or your daily work stuff, we kept the depth slim - just 6.5." The guy in our video in the plaid shirt is actually just 5'8," so that's a good example of how the length and width will be for yourself.
      2. We thought about this - making sure you can get in and out in tight spaces. When open, Watson takes up 8.5." The average legroom on a plane (economy) hovers around 12"+ so you're all clear.
      3. YES! In the survey you receive when our campaign ends, you can specify 2 different addresses if you'd like to send one as a gift.
      Cheers!
