In a rural town hidden among the mountains of Colorado, a Stranger arrives. His visit to a quiet hotel attracts the attention of other guests who are suspicious of his unorthodox appearance and secretive behavior. When a large sum of money is stolen and phone lines are cut, the Stranger’s intentions are revealed. Kidnapping a terrified skier at gunpoint, the Stranger forces him to lead the way through the snowy wilderness to an isolated and forgotten cabin. In the cabin is the secret to the Stranger’s relentless quest, and the terrifying truth about his past...
The original story of The Invisible Man has not been adapted since 1933. It's a story that still lingers in the public consciousness, but which is waiting to be freshly told to a new generation. Waterfoot Films wants to do just that. With your help, we're going to modernize H.G. Wells' classic novel and bring it to the world in a five-part web series.
This means we're shooting a series of short films. We will be traveling to Colorado to capture the snowy wilderness which the Invisible Man treks through and to make a web series that has the cinematic values of a feature film. We're hoping to shoot in January and then distribute the episodes for free online in the Spring.
That's where we need your help. We love independent cinema and we love sharing it with the world for free...but we haven't figured out a way to create it for free. We have a very low budget of $10,000 which we're trying to scrape together and we're hoping to get the ball rolling on Kickstarter by raising at least $3,000. If we get that much we think we can get through production - the funds will go to the very basic expenses we have: travel costs, food, costumes, etc. Any money we can raise beyond $3,000 will help us with our post-production expenses. We would love to score the series with an orchestra, but that's up to you...
