Frequently Asked Questions
No problem. Here's how:
1. Pledge for the first color you want.
2. Then click the green “Manage your pledge” button at the top of this campaign.
2. Click the blue “Change my Pledge” button.
3. Increase your pledge amount by $219 USD and click Continue.
4. All done. The increased pledge amount will be applied to additional Trappist-1 Moonphase watches. You’ll choose your additional color(s) after the campaign ends.
You're good to go. Thanks for your support.Last updated:
Unfortunately there isn't an affordable central moonphase automatic movement that we could find; everything costs $5k or more. This is why we chose the Ronda Quartz Moonphase mov't. Another drawback for a moonphase automatic is that you'd have to have a watch winder to keep the moonphase accurate which adds an additional expense.
We're definitely open to exploring this more if we can make an affordable version.Last updated:
Yes you can change your color during the survey which is sent after the campaign ends. If we somehow manage to sell 2017 units of one color (which we don't foresee) then you wouldn't be able to choose that color since it's sold out.
Changing colors is based on the amount and time you pledged. If someone pledged for the early bird $219 rewards, they'd have $219 credit to apply towards the other earl bird rewards if they wanted to switch later. The non-early bird pledge levels are $239 right now with the exception of the silver/blue color at $219. If you pledge for the non-early bird silver/blue at $219 and want to change your color after the campaign ends, you would need to pay an additional $20 to change their color. ThanksLast updated:
Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate requests for specific limited edition numbers because multiple people could request the same number. There are only 2017 units of any one color. That means just over 14,000 of these watches will exist. In a world of almost 7.5 billion people, each backer will be one in 500k+. We think that’s pretty amazing. Like a single star in the vast universe.Last updated:
No, the watches will be distributed randomly. This way every backer has a chance at low numbers even if you only found out about the Kickstarter campaign on day 29 of 30. Earliest backers get the benefit of the watch delivering in January as well as the lower pricing of $219.Last updated:
Good question. Unlike other Kickstarter campaigns, we don't design an inferior watch with built-in "stretch goals" to get to the quality we would want for a Xeric watch. We launch with a watch that is high-quality from the start.
1. Ronda 708 Caliber Moonphase with long battery life (up to 5 years)
2. Custom American Horween Leather straps with built-in, quick release springbars.
3. Hesalite crystal to prevent accidental impact causing glass failure that occurs with domed mineral crystal.
4. 316L Stainless Steel (PVD coating on plated versions)
5. Super-LumiNova lume throughout.
Some Kickstarter watch campaigns will start with an inferior case, generic leather and stock mineral crystal to start (which aren't necessarily bad) and then set arbitrary stretch goals for backers to get the watch upgraded, but that's not our philosophy. We make a product that we're proud to wear from the get-go and we offer the rewards at affordable, discounted prices.Last updated:
Yes, the leather straps feature a built-in quick release docking system which allows them to easily be switch without any tools.Last updated:
Yes we do have plans to offer additional straps after the campaign ends. During the survey we hope to allow backers the opportunity to purchase additional straps at a discounted rate. We don’t currently have pricing set, but it'll be more than reasonable.Last updated:
This all depends on your country. We will do everything in our power to minimize any taxes due, but we can’t forecast what those might be. You can check with your local government on their duties rate if this a concern for you. Shipping charges are part of the total amount you pledge.Last updated:
