Saga Heroes is an action/adventure RPG where you, a humble villager, are called on a quest to save the world from evil by uncovering the cause of the corruption of the land by a cult called The Shadow, whose sole purpose is to release the Elder God of Death, Goth-Azul.
You start in the small village of Aria, with the clothes on your back and nothing more. Gain the trust of the townsfolk by completing their quests and uncover the secrets of the Shadow Cabal. Explore the world of Gaia and discover the rich lore behind it all.
We started this game because we haven't found any other game quite like it, especially mobile devices. Instead of a quick level selection screen with stars for each level that has become the norm for so many of these types of games, we've created a beautiful and immersive, fully explorable world. Saga Heroes offers a rich and deep experience that is rare on mobile and OUYA, but it's also a game you can take in bite-sized chunks, so you don't have to dedicate a whole day to play.
When designing Saga Heroes, we wanted a game that focused on straight up gameplay, just like the action/adventure games of the SNES era. Our foundation rests on three core principles: Fun gameplay, an immersive world, and storytelling.
The game is played from a top-down perspective, very much inspired by classic action/adventure games on the SNES, but we've also added our own unique blend of adventuring, role-playing, and action. As you explore, you will complete many quests along the main storyline, and will also have the opportunity to help NPCs by doing their side quests.
While questing, you will cross paths with ferocious beasts, majestic creatures, and ancient demons. As you defeat your enemies, you will gain experience and grow more powerful. You will also collect all kinds of loot to more prepare you for the evil ahead.
Delve deep into the dungeons of ancient temples, which have been overrun by legions of Undead and worshipers of Goth-Azul, who are desperately trying to break the seals and release their master. You must defeat the evil inside, and stop them before it's too late.
Here’s a glimpse of the story that spans the first three chapters:
Before the Saga began, the Elder Gods reigned in the heavens. One of the Elder Gods, Goth-Azul, rebelled against the established order and the Gods created a prison orb, called Gaia, and imprisoned Goth-Azul deep within its core. Now, the Shadow Cabal intends to unleash Goth-Azul once more and only you can stop them.
The full story will be written by Jason Faller, who has written many full feature films such as Dawn of the Dragon Slayer, The Crown and the Dragon, and The Shadow Cabal.
The story will be revealed in three chapters or more depending on meeting our stretch goals. Each chapter will ask the hero to protect or restore one of the remaining seals that bind Goth-Azul to his prison deep in Gaia's core.

SAGA is a completely free MMORTS we released with Silverlode Interactive in 2008. We currently maintain the game and its community, which has been active with a strong community since its release. In SAGA, you build an empire by collecting cards as troops in your army, like a trading card game, but it plays like an RTS in the vein of the Total War games.
We strongly encourage each backer who enjoys RTS games to play the game and participate in its amazing community while waiting for Saga Heroes to be completed. We promise you will not be disappointed.
We have been working on Saga Heroes part-time when not working on client contract-work. While we enjoy working with some big name companies, what we'd really like to do is work on our own projects. Thanks to Kickstarter, and you, that can be a possibility.
Not only that, but we love using Kickstarter, and really like the interaction we can have with our players. We wanted to provide a rewarding way for our dedicated community to participate in the development of the game, and get cool stuff for being a part of it! We will actively discuss new features before putting them in the game, and will listen to what our backers want in order to make the best game possible, and more importantly, the game you really want.
We also know that you want this game sooner than later, and the more we can raise, the quicker we can get this exciting adventure out to you! We are currently working on this game in our spare time, and this will allow the company to take an active role in development, allowing it to be completed much, much earlier since we'll be able to work full-time on the game.

We are a small studio based in American Fork, UT and have been making games for six years, mostly for clients. We started out as BlueOrb Studios, working with Silverlode Interactive on a revolutionary MMORTS called SAGA. It was the first of its kind, and we were tasked to invent new server technologies to make it all happen. We recently changed our name from BlueOrb Studios to settle some confusion of a similarly named company. Since SAGA, we have worked with many big name clients like Hasbro, Disney, Dreamworks, Microprose, NVIDIA, Nokia, and LEGO.
Our goal as a company, is to stop relying on client-work, and continue working on building up our own portfolio of great games. With your help, we will be one step closer to realizing that goal, and we will be forever grateful for your support.

When creating games, there is always the risk of delays, and feature changes if the features sound good on paper but end up not being fun. We feel that our experience working in the game industry has given us the knowledge required to scope a project correctly and avoid any major setbacks.
