Travel to the frozen lands of Njorsvald in ArcWorlde: Troubles in the North - the first expansion of the 32mm table top fantasy skirmish wargame from Warploque Miniatures.
With three brand new factions to play as, new models to add to your existing ArcWorlde factions, new and fearsome monsters from the frozen North and new characters and heroes to join your forces, Troubles in the North has something for both existing players, and those new to the game.
Every ArcWorlde model is lovingly hand sculpted before being cast in white metal or fine resin by skilled local artisans, all in the United Kingdom.

Here are a list of the models that are being funded through this campaign. As stretch goals are broken, more will be made available, so make sure you keep track of the updates! All models are cast in white metal, unless stated otherwise.
The Explorer miniature is only included for scale, and is not included with the models shown. Only with the pledges!
If we ever hit 22k, the Troll Hunter will be released! The first ever Troubles model, previewed during Battle for Troll Bridge. Add him to your pledge for £4.
If you crazy cats ever get this campaign to £23k, the ferocious Manticore will be unlocked! A real terror on the battlefield, add him for a puny £10.
It's the spookiest day of the year, so The Evermaiden has been unlocked! Once a virgin sacrifice by an ancient human race, she has been brought back to life by angry Gods who decree she should never have been slain. Add her to your pledge as one of your Promo Model choices, or for £6!
These are the new factions being released for Troubles in the North. The Skirmish Sets are designed to give you a great starting force to play ArcWorlde and to introduce you to the new races. They contain the faction Commander, the leader, and some basic grunts, at a ridiculously low price. Customise your force by adding Mages, Elites, Heavies and Specialists!
Please note - even if you have opted for an Artisan Pledge, only the full Skirmish Sets will be in resin. The Mages, Elites, Heavies, Specialists and the individual model packs from the Skirmish Set will be cast in white metal, unless stated.
The events of Troubles in the North effect all of the races of Upper ArcWorlde. Each existing ArcWorlde faction has been given an 'Expansion Pack' of new characters and miniatures to bolster your warbands. These models are much stronger and worth more points in-game than the grunts you get in the Skirmish Sets, so will really add some clout to your forces!
Even though these packs may be played as a force themselves, our game designer recommends that you use them in conjunction with the faction's regular models from the core ArcWorlde rulebook.
The old 2013 Starter Warbands for these factions can be added to your pledge seperately, and you don't need to purchase the new models to grab the old ones for a fantastic price!
Please note - even if you have opted for an Artisan Pledge, only the full Expansion Packs will be in resin. The individual model sets from the Expansion Packs, as well as the 2013 warbands, will be cast in white metal unless stated.
These miniatures, from the Bestiary and the Swords for Hire section, aren't part of any of the ArcWorlde factions. You may either 'hire' them for your faction warbands, or play them on their own. There's nothing quite like fighting your opponent as a pack of Trolls, or a mighty Dragon!
These are the many different pledge levels you can opt for when you back the campaign. From just a single model, to nine whole Skirmish Sets or Expansion Packs, there is a saving to be made on every one.
For those of you who are new to ArcWorlde, you may want to grab some of the existing products to get started with the game. Although you can add this small selection to your pledge, and make a saving, it will be delivered along with your Troubles in the North package in May 2017. To get playing straight away, head on over to the Warploque Miniatures website, where it will be delivered in a matter of days. Why wait?
For this Kickstarter, shipping is not included in your pledge and will need to be added after the conclusion of the campaign. I will provide you with full instructions at the end, through the pledge manager.
I am still finalising the exact shipping costs, but to give you a rough idea here are a couple of preliminary estimates:
EXPLORER/SCHOLAR/WARBAND/ADVENTURER/BRAWLER: - £3 to the UK, £6 EU and £8 ROW.
ONSLAUGHT/LORD IN THE NORTH: £5 to the UK, £9 EU and £12 ROW.
These estimates may increase if you add a lot of add-ons to your core pledge. The final shipping cost is subject to change, and will be based on your location and specific rewards.
There will also be an option to pick up your pledges at the Salute 2017 gaming show. I plan on selling Troubles in the North there, so if the shipping target is reached they will be ready to collect. I have put May as a delivery date to take into account the shipping times overseas, but if all goes to plan every pledge will be ready in April. I will try and have all pledges sent off by then, but if not they will be sent very soon afterwards.
Greetings, dear reader! My name is Alex Huntley and I am the founder of Warploque Miniatures. Based in the United Kingdom, Warploque Miniatures is a company specialising in unique fantasy figures for wargamers, collectors and painters. Having been a miniatures geek for more than half of my 23 years on this planet, I began sculpting full miniatures of my own design around the age of 16, in 2009.
After doing the odd commission for friends and followers of my various blogs, I cast and sold my first Warploque Miniatures model at the end of 2010. Since then it was pretty steady away until the launch of my first ArcWorlde Kickstarter in August 2013. Then it got silly.
Due to the amazing support from the wargaming community, ArcWorlde, my Fantasy Skirmish Wargame, was successfully funded. And now I am pleased to present to you the next instalment in the ArcWorlde story - Troubles in the North.
For this campaign I have been lucky enough to work alongside some amazingly talented people, who have all made it possible to get this far. Take a look round guys, enjoy yourselves, and I hope you love everything that is to come!
Risks and challenges
Any undertaking of this nature is a huge commitment and a lot of work for everyone involved. Miniatures need sculpting, manufacturing, packing and eventually shipping to the backers.
It is at these hurdles that some Kickstarters have faltered in the past, so, I have given careful consideration to each part of the process to minimise potential risk. I have a contact list of reputable manufacturers that I have worked with before, as well as an in-house resin caster and a local metal caster.
Also, instead of relying purely on concept art and work-in-progress sculpts to illustrate my products, many of the initial models that I am offering have already been completed. I also have many more models in the process of being sculpted, so backers know exactly what they are investing in.
To ensure the campaign runs smoothly I will be working on it full-time, alongside a number of colleagues. By working together, we will ensure that all your questions will be answered and updates will posted at all hours.
Finally, I have set achievable delivery date estimates. Even though my previous Kickstarter 'ArcWorlde - Battle for Troll Bridge' was delivered on time, during my first campaign I was somewhat overwhelmed by the support and as such did not hit the original delivery date.
Three years on, this time I have prepared much more content before the campaign, and each of the stretch goals have been carefully planned as to not affect the production time of the project. This will increase the likelihood that product will be delivered on time or, perhaps even ahead of schedule.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
