Special Thanks to KokuGamer for writing up a great review about this Kickstarter! Beau D. for the help and review!
My name is Steve Nunez, and I'm the singer/creator of They Might Be Elders; A Mormon Comedy Parody Band. On TV, I have been named, "The Mormon Weird Al" (referring to Weird Al Yankovic), and "The Mormonizer".
It's been a long time coming, but I'd like to make a new album. I have all of the songs parodized and recorded, but I could use help with the production, mixing and editing costs for this album, and so I'm reaching out to the community, (whether Mormon (LDS) or not).
The name of this new album will be "Truth Retold", and the Parody List will be as follows,
01 Back to the 90's - (Aqua, Back to the 80's)
02 Noah's Ark - (Neon Trees, Animal)
03 LDS Acronyms (Bruno Mars, Grenade)
04 Missionary Boys (Katy Perry, California Gurls)
05 P-Day (Rebecca Black, Friday)
06 Home Teaching (Hot Chelle Rae, Tonight, Tonight)
07 The Golden Plates (Owl City, Hot Air Balloon)
08 Choose The Right (Taio Cruz, Dynamite)
09 God's Work and His Glory (Lady Gaga, The Edge)
10 The Bells are Ringing (They Might Be Giants, The Bells are Ringing)
11 The Priesthood is Restored (Matchbox 20, How Far We've Come)
12 Strengths (Jay Sean - Down)
13 Testimony (David Archuleta, Crush)
14 I Can Be Free (Christina Perri, Jar of Hearts)
Here is a video of P-Day, one of the songs from Youtube that will be on Truth Retold!!
(The End Credits have Noah's Ark playing in the background)
As you can see, this will be a very funny album, poking fun as always, (certainly not making fun) of LDS culture, and telling a story about the religious beliefs.
(by the way, If you don't understand P-Day, it's about missionaries who serve, get one day a week to do their chores, have fun, and write letters home, it's called P-Day as a nickname, and Preparation day for it's full name.)
I hope that you will support this uplifting fun cause! Please contact me with any questions, comments, and please share this with your friends!
