We hit the goal! Shiver Bureau will be printed. But lets see what other fun stuff we can add in the remaining time.
I will add all the original stories I created when I was first conceiving Shiver Bureau. Fully illustrated covers and sequential pages. I think this will be at least 20 extras pages of content. This will be awesome to have in the book just for the sure zaniness of the stories, but it will show the Shiver Bureau in its infancy. The story, the characters and even me grew a lot in the 8 years it too to get to this point. I think these pages will really showcase that growth.
Prints of cool interior pages, panels and the cover will be sent out with all physical shipments.
All books will be printed in glorious hardcover!
The hardcover will be upgraded to include some tasteful embossing. My plan is to emboss the logo, Trish, and Pickle. Also I will start compiling a massive concept art book for Shiver Bureau volume 2. All backers who gave $10+ will get a digital PDF copy of this book when complete.
Upgrade Level twooooooo! The book will get a spot UV treatment. I think that is something like a spa day for graphic novels. I want to add a shiny, 'invisible' ghost to the back cover. A spooky friend you only spot out of the corner of eye when the hair raises on the back of your neck.
Shiver Bureau: Welcome to London is a 150 page graphic novel. That's 150 pages of full on story. There will be some bonus content in the back as well. It will be a paperback unless we raise enough to afford a hardcover.
Best part is, this first volume is completely finished. I'm not waiting for the artist to art, or the colorist to color, or the letterer to letter, or even the snozzleblurrer to snozzleblur. I just need cash money to get it printed.
Suitable for all ages with parental guidance. There is some cartoon violence and monsters lurking about. But nothing worse then a Saturday morning cartoon.
This is the first volume of a trilogy (possibly a quadrology) but this volume is self contained and serves as an introduction to the world, characters, and the awesome.
It's also a webcomic that you can read for free at http://shiverbureau.com/
The world is overrun with ghosts and it's up to the Shiver Bureau to keep things under control. But everything isn't as it seems, the bureau is corrupt and there are things lurking in the shadows that are far worse then the shivers.
That's where Pickle, Trish, Mr. Todd and Oliver come in. The is Pickle's first day in London and already he's been attacked by shivers, fallen out of a blimp and been shown up by his assistant*. How much worse could his day get? A lot worse...Welcome to London.
Pickle is taking over the London headquarters. Not only does he have to deal with shivers, but he needs to clean up the bureau, deal with a power hungry minister, get back his assistant*, and there are rumors about missing kids. I think Pickle needs a vacation (wink wink volume 2 wink nod wink wink wink wink...sorry got something in my eye).
There are a wide assortment of characters, but the main dogooders are...
Pickle is an Inspectre, a rare type of person with the ability to lay shivers to rest. He is overly confident, but has the skills and the mouth to back it up...most of the time. Pickle thinks he's the hero of the story...
Luckily, Trish is there to remind him that he's not. Trish is the power house of the group. She's not just a brute though, she has more than enough smarts to keep Pickle and his mouth in check. *Not Pickle's assistant.
Mr. Todd fixes everything that Trish and Pickle break. He also makes some really cool toys. Don't let his size fool you, he's no good in a fight...he's a pacifist and very huggable.
Oliver is the next generation. He embodies the best of Pickle, Trish, and Mr. Todd. Maybe some of their faults as well. When he's older, he will be someone to reckon with...if he can live that long.
Well I'm me, silly...
More info? Okay, my name is Walter Ostlie and I am a part-time storyteller who dreams of retiring early to create new worlds and new possibilities, to boldly go where no cartoonist has gone before...or go where they went but put my own twist on it.
Shiver Bureau is my second graphic novel. My first is Cubicles: The Movie: The Graphic Novel...or just call it Cubicles. It's a sci-fi comedy about two office workers who get dragged across the universe. It's pretty funny, you should read it. It's available on Comixology. You can read the first chapter for free and the entire novel is only 4 bucks. That's like 80 pages of hah hah hilarious uproar for 4 bucks. What? What!

Risks and challenges
This is my second graphic novel, fourth time printing a project, and second Kickstarter. The graphic novel is completely finished. The files just need to be packaged with a nice little bow and sent off to the printers.
The only possible risks could be printing or shipping delays if I use an overseas printer.
If the Kickstarter is successful, the final PDF will be sent to all backers once funds have transferred. So you can start reading without the long printing process wait.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
