About this project
Dear friendly reader,
We are gathered here today in fellowship, sharing a goal of completing a very meaningful project. Samuel Rosko and I (Brian Blackwood) have been best friends for nearly a decade, we first met by being in separate bands but our love for music, the similarities in our musical tastes, and our complimentary senses of humor pulled us together stronger and stronger until we became inseparable musically. We're both songwriters and being best friends keeps us honest and hardworking. We encourage and inspire each other to make the best songs we can and we have developed a streamlined workflow thanks to all of our time spent together playing music and sharing our thoughts about the music we create. We have shared our songs at Norman Music Festival, Afrocka (A benefit for Africa), and countless unforgettable house parties, however we have not been lucky enough to have an opportunity to record an album, yet. . .
We have come to a place in our musical lives where we have composed a beautiful complete album that will represent our hard work and learning over the years. This album will be one for long road trips, rainy days, getting you through the work day, background music while you clean the house, riding your bike to a friend's house, and escaping the world in your bedroom with some headphones. We call ourselves 'Walking Waves' and we're asking our neighbors of the world to help us by sharing any contribution you can. We have been working on the album secretly for about 5 months now. If we can reach this funding goal quickly the album should be completed and ready to ship in December, so the wait will not be long. Alone we will not be able to complete our album, but with the help of our friends - we can, and I think it will make an impact. Any help or encouragement is greatly appreciated.
Our goal: $3,000 (To help us afford professional recording/mixing/mastering/duplication/distribution)
Risks and challenges
If our goal is not met, you will be refunded and we will go back to the drawing board to figure out another way to get this album out there. If our goal is met, you will have contributed to so much more than just us. I think this album will mean something special to you, and when you hear it, you will remember that you were a valuable part in it's completion. Not only will you help us, but you help support the local studio we're recording at. You will be helping the community of Norman and the great state of Oklahoma by supporting the artists that will be a part of this (we have a lot of friends whose talents need to be showcased and we hope to bring as many of them in to be a part of this album as possible). I sincerely thank you for taking the time to read about our experience and I hope you choose to come along.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
