Sneak preview of your WakaWaka Power

Time for an update on the production of the WakaWaka Power, distribution of the donated Lights to Haiti and the shipment of your rewards.

Production on scedule

With the testing phase behind us, production of the WakaWaka Power is right on schedule. We have now started producing the 'Powers' in large quantities, so if all goes well, we’ll be able to send you your rewards in May. Just as planned.

Distribution in Haiti

The support of all our backers and the massive success of the 'buy one, give one' crowdfunding campaign (and pre-sales on getwakawaka.com) has resulted in 12.000 WakaWaka Lights for Haitian families living without electricity. A masterplan on the distribution of these free Lights in Haiti is beginning to take shape. We've reached an agreement with a total of 22 small, medium sized and larger NGO’s that will be helping us to distribute the lamps in such a way that maximum impact will be realized. Full-scale distributions is planned to start in June and we’ll be traveling there ourselves to make sure the lights get to where they are needed the most. If you want to know more about Haiti and the donated solar lights check our website.

Well.... I must say I am a bit disappointed. I live in Holland, so my WakaWaka power should have arrived last week. But it didn't. And also no response from the WakaWaka people on my E-mail...
It must be VERY busy, but I really hope that "extra people hired to answer problems" as mentioned in this update will deal with my mail, and sort out what happened to my delivery to Holland....

@Sean Mury: this is only for aesthetical reasons. We discussed this with our designer and came to the conclusion that this looked a bit cooler.

these show a matte black screen and the original showed a glass shiny screen. I was wondering what changed? I don't mind whatever kind of screen as long as it works but I am intrigued!

Is there some way for me to make sure I opted for the green Power? I seem to remember I did, but lack certainty. I have the yellow WakaWaka & wanted to be sure I can easily distinguish them, plus I like the green. Thank YOU! Michael Anderson

Excellent job. Keep up the good works.
Maybe picture of the green version is possible soon?
You may WakaWaka me anytime. :-)

@Marie-Andree Poisson and Scott Perkins: Don't you think this is a great pic? We were so excited to see these first prototypes! At the moment I don't have new photo's on the subjects you asked for specifically, but when we get cool new photo's in we'll definitely post it on our FB and, if we have something to update you on, in a KS update!

Marie-Andre, are you saying that this photo is from over five weeks ago? Interesting and you're correct something more recent would be nice, but as long as I get my WWPs on schedule with the performance indicated, I'm good. I'm pleased that things are moving along well for you (and us) all.
