Do anyone know how to fix the WakaWaka power when it stop working?

Ok anybody else having problems? My WW is draining itself like crazy the blue led light is on even I'm not using it. I love the product while it was working perfectly until 5 days ago where problem appeared.
My wakawaka died from being ..in the sun.. Completely dead! Love it.
I pulled my WWP from the window, where it has been unused for a few weeks. It was full last time I checked. It now shows 2 leds. ?
I just noticed that if your in the US or Canada the Buy one give one Waka Waka is $69, but for the rest of the world it's £59. That's an extra $28 when converted to Australian dollars.
Also one more thing to help the process along, it seems i am having problems because my country was changed to Netherlands. Since i received partial order i think this is a problem between Waka Waka and their logistics contractor. I think complete data is not being transferred.
To all those still waiting for contact, i finally recieved a reply but not from Waka Waka. Seems like a company funfairgreen.com is responsible for shipping and order fulfillment. Received reply from them very quickly after my last complain (within a day) so maybe i missed previous emails as spam as there is no mention of WakaWaka in subject or email domain. Knowing this i think i may have deleted previous emails thinking it was spam.
@Camille. Can you please mention WakaWaka in subject so this dose not happen to others. I think it should help.

Having experienced a long delay for my second WakaWaka Power, I simply emailed firstname.lastname@example.org, they responded within 12 hours, sometimes immediately depending upon timezone timeframes. They were always most helpful and courteous. There was an extra delay due to mail strikes in the Netherlands at the time of my enquiry, other than that, they went out of their way to assist. They send plenty of email updates, so I don't really see how people are having such difficulties. The Wakas are great, the pouch not so great, the press stud breaks on first use ... but hey, if one needs a waterproof pouch there are other products out there. Anyway, the Waka Power + Light arrived by registered post within 10 days of posting. So follow-up and follow through, and don't malign without contacting the correct email address, they really are very helpful and efficient.
If you scroll down in this long thread. You will see that I was in the exact same boat as you. As the other backer mentioned. After a lot of public shaming, and negative feed back in this forum and others.
One day you will see a parcel arrive from the Waka Waka camp.
This so called learning from our mistakes, and promise to improve the service and communication is simply horse shit, plain and simple. People who make mistakes learn from them, and do not repeat them!
Camille, its clear to me either you're the only one running the show and need more help. Or you're unable to assign these tasks to people who know what the hell they are doing. If you have someone tasks to communicate on your behalf, and they are failing to do so.
Fire them . . . As this reflects on you, and the Waka Waka initiative. You come on here randomly with out thought about how much time and money people have spent supporting YOUR CAUSE! Which I still believe in firmly but simply ask you to put more effort in communicating to the people who made this program happen.
The way in which you handle things in the open forum or in the back ground is the hall mark of what the public see for the future. Its fair to say given the lack luster communication and quality control your next project will not be very positive.
Why? Again, the lack of timely replies, communication, and resolution to supporter issues. Again, if all of these tasks fall on you then consider farming out these jobs to others you trust. If you can't trust any of these people to complete these tasks, then fire the lot.

Wow,didn't know so many were having problem. Well, I'm in Malaysia and I have gotten my months ago. Works fine. Only complaint I have for this product is the placement of the power button. It tends to be easily switch on by accident when dumped into bags. I have the batts drained a few times when I didn't notice they were switched on. But that's taken care of after I put it in a case.
Where are you from? Because not only did I get mine, but I also got a replacement because mine was defective. Contact WakaWaka and pretend like you bought it from the website. My replacement was not the higher capacity kickstarter one though.

WOW ! I had no idea others were having problems. I got mine a long time ago & I LOVE IT. Admittedly I don't have measuring devices so I don't know the tech facts & I have only charged it the one time but that is because I'm still working on the first charge. I only use it for around the house to find stuff in closets etc. & also as a night light to find my way around the house at night without having 2 turn on the lights & when I travel etc. But I think it's a GREAT Light. I'm AMAZED at how bright the highest setting is & equally amazed at how much I'm using it around the house whenever I need some extra light somewhere. While you are correct that Kickstarter is not a store, you are incorrect that there is no legal obligation on the part of the project towards the backer. From the Kicstarter FAQ:
"Is a creator legally obligated to fulfill the promises of their project?
I've been lucky enough to (eventually) receive my Waka Waka Power, and *then* eventually receive the WakaWaka Power replacement for the initial broken one. But people's complaints now seem to be about the lack of customer service and communication, which is a reasonable thing to complain about.
Mine stopped charging with solar or USB past 2 dots, so it was deemed faulty. This is the reply I received:
"Our team in the US will ship out a replacing one asap. Our normal powers have improved so much the last 5 months that they are comparable to the kickstarter edition. Further they also have a better heat resisting housing."
I guess I am getting scammed out of the higher capacity battery and solar panel. What a shame.
The WakaWaka is ridiculously bright. I expected another flimsy LED lamp, but the WakaWaka actually manages to light up the entire room at its highest setting. This is awesome.
Only negative I can find is that it never seems to fully charge, but I may just be reading the loading indicator the wrong way.
To anyone who complains about now having received their reward yet: Kickstarter isn't a shop. There is no contract. You didn't buy anything. In fact, WakaWaka has no legal obligation towards you at all. That said, given the number of backers, it's likely that there was just an issue with shipping your reward to you and it'll be sorted out eventually: it took me until today to get my Pebble, about a year after the original expected delivery. I've been luckier with the WakaWaka, but I had no expectations.
Think of Kickstarter rewards as gifts to your future self. You will most likely get them eventually, but you don't know when.
@Patrick, I hope they fix your order as this is not looking good.
Speaking personally, I did get my Waka Waka Power (I also live in Canada) and have gotten much use out of it; I've generally been very impressed at how professional everything was, but I guess this isn't true for all customers, as your case shows. I also did manage to fully charge it to 4 lights, but it takes many hours.
@Zubair They are busy communicating on FB about their great humanitarian exploits around the world. Somewhere, I have doubts! One thing for sure, if customer service here is bad, CS in Syria, Haiti, etc. must be horrible, if any!

I have submitted my formal complaint and its being reviewed at this time. Moving forward I am going to share my experience on the Waka Waka Facebook page, Twitter, and make a personal video showing the issues I have experienced.
I will reference and quote Camilles promise to resolve all of these issues and send out a replacement so others can have a better idea and provide true insight about the lack luster customer support.
Along with the zero warranty they offer their customers . . . In a few words shameful, disappointing, and truly shitty service after the sale.

Another five days since my post and not a single reply from the Waka Waka team. No replacement units nothing.
Anyone considering buying one of these products should go in knowing that if there is ever a problem with the product. The maker / vendor will not give you a second thought, and will take your money and run.

I can't argue with anything you have stated as its pretty much what I have seen and endured. I would like to think something will come in the mail this week, next month, etc. The reality is that communication is key in all that we do in life.
When you come on to places like this begging for money. One would think you would be able to communicate in a effective manner that reflects the person, company, etc. Lets see what shows up in the coming day, weeks, months.
If not I have an entire lifetime to write about my personal experience and how I have been treated by the Waka Waka team and the Camille van Gestel!
At this point the experience has been brutal, the product is lack luster, and the quality is at par with the dollar store products.
@Patrick Chan, they have likely heard your complaint. Chances are they are taking action. If you emailed firstname.lastname@example.org you should be ok.
Initially I received one empty and sad envelope. Seemed to be crappy envelope glue which let the envelope pop open in transit. That could be why the number of empty envelope complaints was an even number - ya get what you pay for Camille! Anyhow, I complained here. I also wrote an email. I ranted some too. I eventually gave up.
A month and a half after I got the first empty envelope, the replacement unit finally arrived without notice. I'm in the USA and it took a month and a half.
Dare I suggest it, but just give up. When it arrives, it will be a pleasant surprise.
Does the situation suck? Yep, it sounds like your situation sucks!
Will they respond to emails? In my experience no, for some reason they will not.
Will they follow through and ship your units? In my experience yes, they will. (Thanks Victor!)
Does ranting here help your situation? Not really - but I know ranting can help you feel better!
Will they be shipped in a timely fashion? Not in my experience, which is why I suggest you give up. And when they do arrive, it will be a nice surprise.

You made promises and have not kept them that is a fact! I gave you and your team plenty of time to resolve this issue and you have stated in writing that my concerns and defective units would be taken care of and resolved. Nothing has come, I have not received a reply from one person from your work group?
At the rate you're going your team is right up there with the Pebble team. Piss poor communication, and lacking in ethics to complete a legal binding transaction.
You should be ashamed and embarrassed that a supporter should have to write in a open forum just to get some sort of response.

I finally received the WakaWaka Power over a month after I received my first sad, empty envelope, but where are the rest of the items?
Firstly, I wanted to give you a run down on some real world tests for both the WakaWakas. The green 'power+' has provided an approximate backup of 1716 mAh while the yellow 'power' has provided approximately 1379 mAh. Both were completely charged via USB before the test. Subsequent tests have yielded similar results with the green one labeled 'power +' holding about 330 mAh more than the yellow one that is only labeled as 'power'. While I can confirm that the yellow waka waka power has 8 solar cells, the battery capacity doesn't appear to conform to what is expected of a 2750 mAh battery which is supposed to be on both pieces.
Even taking the energy losses into account, I'm sure you'll agree that a 50.14% usable battery on the yellow versus 62.4% on the green (assuming both have a 2750 mAh battery) is significant.
Secondly, thank you for offering to cover the customs fees. Though I'm wondering if I could just cover the extra cost (including S&H) for another power +, seeing how the yellow one labeled 'power' isn't really matching up to what is expected.
I still have not receive my package.

Two days later and still not a single reply from anyone in the Waka Waka group. I just filed a formal complaint with the Canadian consumer protection agency regarding this matter. The next step will be to file a formal complaint with any other agency that deals with such matters.
In my world when someone tells you they are going to do something, they do it! Right here, I have nothing but lip service and dead air.
You made a promise and commitment to have all three of my Waka Waka units replaced along with the single water proof bag. You have NOT completed this promise and more than two months have since past!
Looks like I should be be filing a complaint as well with our Government body for consumer protection here in Canada.
Where exactly are my replacement Waka Waka units along with the one water proof bag??? It has been over a month and nothing has arrived and no one has sent over a confirmation tracking number! Replies have been left for two other people yet I have not received anything in more than 45 days.

You can verify this by the amount of solarpanels on the back of the WakaWaka. the newest version as well as the WakaWaka + has 8 solarcells. The earliest version has only 6. Finally, we'll send you the missing waterproof pouch as well. We're very sorry for the inconvenience.

Firstly I'd like to thank you for your response and immediate action in resolving my issue.
I received the Waka Waka powers yesterday and have a few things I'd like to share:
1. I had to pay $56 as customs.
2. The yellow Waka Waka Power I received is the regular version and not the Power+ which I believe is what we had pledged for?
3. I only received one waterproof pouch in the order (was supposed to get 2).
Weren't we going to receive lanyards as well? Or was it substituted for the waterproof pouches?
Will post my thoughts after I cycle through the battery a couple of times.

I've been trying to get a tracking number for ages and still nothing. And then they try to say that the number doesn't work because your country isn't supported by their post tracking system. I've NEVER met a system that doesn't at least REGISTER their own tracking number when they get the package
Eight days later and not one reply? The lack of follow up, communication is simply unbelievable!
Camille, if you're unable to inform your supporters. May I suggest you pass this job on to someone who can. Each day with nothing but silence, dead air, and nothing in my mail box simply makes your entire company look unprofessional and untrustworthy of any future funding.

@Mohamed Don't confuse Kickstarter with the WakaWaka project. I've backed many projects on KS. Most of them were good and shipped correctly (even though they were mostly late), some bad, and some very bad.
I live in UAE... still did not receive the product .. i am not buying from this company again neither i will back up other projects from this website !! it is my first time and last time .. really awful service !!

What I would love is a valid tracking number. The person at info@waka sent me an invalid one "3SXDXE610541191. You can track your order via tracktrace.nl and change the language in the upper left corner. " And when I pointed the website he provided doesn't even have that as a valid tracking number, he tried to tell me it was because my country SG doesn't support tracking numbers. When from the website http://www.postnlpakketten.nl/klantenservice/pakket-ontvangen/pakket-volgen/landenlijst.aspx , Singapore IS listed on the countries. So something is very wrong over at wakawaka. And despite him saying I would receive it in 3-6 working days, it's been 12 days and still NO PACKAGE.
As per your last posting on July 23, 2013. Would you please ask your team to send me the tracking number for the replacement Waka Waka units. It normally takes 2-3 weeks for items to arrive from the USA to Canada. As always, I thank you for your continued support and guidance.
