About this project
VProud.tv is a video-based conversation platform built for women, by women. Founded in 2014, our mission is to cultivate honest conversations in a safe and nonjudgemental environment, free from trolls.
Our mission inspired our team to develop a show that featured real women talking about taboo topics AND our favorite stand-up comedians doing sets around those sensitive issues. Our vision was best described as "if Jon Favreau's Dinner for Five met Seinfeld and had a video baby." Yup. That was our concept for a show we called You're Not Crazy.
In an effort to make our dream show a reality, we applied for a Women's History Month production grant from Google, and won! Our dream of making season one of "You're Not Crazy" came true, garnering over 1.3 Million views and 40k comments/shares/likes.
We've created a show that not only allows women to engage with each other about the issues that really matter to them, but also one that makes them laugh. All of this PLUS a badass licensed therapist moderating the conversations throughout the series, leaving viewers with some tangible thoughts to walk away with after each episode.
We NEED (yes, need) to produce season 2 of "You're Not Crazy" because there are critical issues that we didn't have time to cover in Season 1 that our community needs to talk about, like:
- Financial Anxiety
- Being a New Mom
- What it's really like starting a business
- Getting Pregnant/Fertility/Infertility
- Living with Autism Spectrum
- Body Dysmorphia
Your dollars will go directly to paying for our production costs: cast, crew, set, lights, cameras, action, etc. As you well know, producing high quality and entertaining video, while paying our female talent their fair share isn't cheap, so THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! WE COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU - TRULY.

Risks and challenges
We feel very confident in our ability to produce this show because we have extensive experience in this. It's our business. We are a scrappy, brilliant, passionate team of women who are obsessed with all things video, mental health, sexual health, and funny/honest lady talk.
The only risk in funding us is that you are supporting the making of a show that features discussions on taboo topics that may make you and other viewers a bit uncomfortable, but this is exactly why we are talking about these issues, to inspire the people dealing with them to feel less alone! We promise that any hard-to-watch conversations be transformed into pure entertainment!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
