To keep you abreast of the developments with our VOX 3 recording project, we have good news and bad news.
The bad news is we are running behind our originally anticipated release date of December 2012. The good news is that we have some really amazing things lined up for you; we are in the midst of editing and recording one final piece...and it sounds great!
We are now targeting a release date on Schubert's birthday: January 31, 2013. This seems fitting, for this double-release of new art song. Thanks again for your support and patience - we hope you are as excited as we are!
Over four hours, we were able to get several great takes of song cycles which comprise the heart of our recording project. It became clear in the studio last night just how incredibly diverse these two albums will be. Whether the tender atmosphere of Randall West's "Judith Had Come to Her Home," touchingly rendered by Laura Pinto; Amos Gillespie's smartly crafted "Circle Dance Music," brought to life by Rebecca Prescott; the chilling sounds of Randall Moore's "The Lake," sung by Kimberly Gunderson; or the driving, humorous performance of Adam Gustafson's "Morning Commute" by Ashlee Hardgrave, there is truly something for every taste. Our VOX 3 music director James Morehead has prepared the performers well for this task, and provides superb, sensitive accompaniment throughout. With these fine performances, you will be charmed, surprised, moved, and perhaps even challenged by the featured material.
There are just nine days left in our Kickstarter fundraising campaign. You have helped us out so much already with your generous donations. By telling a friend about our project, you can further your support and help us ensure only the highest-quality finished product. Moreover, by spreading the word, we can pave the way for VOX 3 to continue performing and preserving the fascinating rare repertoire it has been associated with over the last five seasons.
Vielen Dank! We are most grateful for all your support and encouragement - Let's keep it up!
We are incredibly happy to announce that we have achieved our minimum fundraising goal - Our recording project will be funded and can proceed as planned!
But wait! There are still 18 days left in our fundraiser campaign.
If you have not yet donated, there is still a chance to get involved. Any money received over the $1200 mark will allow VOX 3 Collective to establish a recording fund, to create future live and studio recordings. More of our members will get an opportunity to work in the studio, and more rare repertoire will be preserved. For example, we already have planned a studio project focusing on vocal chamber music, which can be realized with additional support. Further, additional funding will allow us to purchase microphones and software so our live concerts can be documented with high-quality archival recordings.
So please, keep spreading the word. Thank you so much for all you have done to support us thus far - Keep it up, and keep the music coming! Remember, VOX 3 Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization - so donations are tax deductible!
In just eleven days, we have cracked the $1000 mark on our recording project fundraiser! We are amazed and incredibly grateful for the donations received so far - and for your help in getting the word out!
Our minimum goal is in sight. There is still more to be done. Every dollar pledged will go toward preserving and promoting rare vocal music. Together, we can preserve these great works in the thoughtful, passionate manner you have come to expect from VOX 3 Collective. Mille grazie!
