My name is Einar Kuusk, I'm an aspiring filmmaker from Estonia and recently I raised the minimum amount of money to start filming my debut short film, The Most Beautiful Day. Due to different factors such as weather conditions, human error and equipment failure, we weren't able to finish shooting all the shots we needed to get the film wrapped.
So now here I am, once again turning to all you people who are excited for this film to see the light of day. What we need is simple: enough money to finish filming the movie and get it out in 2014 so we can all enjoy it with pride in our hearts.
"The Most Beautiful Day" is a live action, post-apocalyptic, sci-fi short film of a young man in a soviet-style alternate universe who survives the apocalypse and is left stranded in a world of mutants, cannibals and looters. That's all we're going to say, because we don't want to reveal the whole story of this short film, we want everyone to be able to enjoy it fresh and expect the unexpected when it comes out...
The story is inspired from independent musician Professor Kliq's song of the same name. The film is shot in RED 3K and will be about 15-25 minutes long. When finished, it will be uploaded online, free to watch and enjoy for everyone.
The soundtrack for the film will mainly be composed by the talented Swedish composer Hannes Johansson. Below you can listen to a wide selection of his work.
The money will go into the continued shooting of the film. Due to many factors, we weren't able to complete principal photography with our last budget, so now we're asking for your help to finish filming.
All of the pledges will go into the production of this short film. The money will be used for:
Yes, we only need funds for transportation, catering and equipment rental! The whole crew will be working for free, to create an epic short film for everyone to enjoy...
In the event that the film raises more than the amount needed to finish filming, we will put all additional funds into visual effects, additional shots & post-production.
Please note! The "weapon" props are just movie props, they can not be used as real weapons. The one below in example is actually a custom made flashlight. The propmaster has worked hard to make these props look authentic and real but we assure you, they are not!

PS: Thank you Sven Olters and Mihkel Vällik for helping us make the campaign videos!
We had our setbacks and miscalculated on the total amount of budget we would need to finish filming all the scenes but now that we are in the middle of shooting and have the reference, we were able to calculate precisely how many more shooting days we need and how much more money we need for them. It's called 'trial and error'.
We are confident that we won't have any more setbacks in terms of completing principal photography for the film. Any additional photography needed and post-production costs will be paid from the Director / Producer's pockets or sponsored in any other way. The film will be released in 2014.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
It will be in English.
It is a live-action short film.
The release date depends on the success of this Kickstarter campaign but we are planning to release the short film online in 2014.
You can watch The Most Beautiful Day for free on YouTube and Vimeo and the film's official website, once it's finished and uploaded. We will also do screening events in Estonia for friends, family, the crew and random people from the street who happen to walk into one of our events.
