Clothing with funny or political statements alone are not enough. Neither is merchandise sold for fundraisers, or fashion designs that looks stylish but without meaning. We believe in doing all three - creating designs based on statements that are ironic, smart, informative and speak for causes you believe in.  Using garments of the best fit, fabric and style that you'd always want to wear.

What are the most important social issues of our time?

If you are a fan of isoHunt, copyright would be one. We used to share tapes, CDs and DVDs with our friends to check out new music and movies. So why are the fines for file-sharing far higher than literally walking into a record store and stealing music?

And you probably have heard about the NSA spying on the entire world. 1984 called and Big Brother is watching. When governments around the world are watching our every move, what meaning does freedom and democracy still have?

Now, clothing. Some of us care more about looking fashionable than others, but we don't think anyone would dispute that you want to wear what makes you look good, but non-profit merch are usually more functional than fashionable.

10.23 wants to combine all these aspects of meaningful designs to make everyday clothing fashionable, socially conscious, and with statements made about your allegiances.

The majority of profits we make from our designs launched on Kickstarter will be donated to media democracy and consumer rights organizations such as the EFF, Wikimedia and Openmedia.ca.  And all our garments will be sourced from factories that have a sweatshop-free policy.

Garments & Printing

Through Kickstarter, 10.23 will be launching designs on garments including tank tops, t-shirts, crew neck sweatshirts, and zip hoodies.  

All garments in our initial plan will be either standard 100% cotton, or 50/50 cotton & polyester blend made by American Apparel.

Our goal with your help will be to skip the ready-made, mass market garments and source our own custom fabrics and high quality fits.  The more we are able to raise will also offer us opportunity to manufacture unique styles of garments.  We maybe able to add additional features to our garments like:

• Custom patches and zippers emblazoned with the 10.23 logo, as well as specially designed size and wash labels (or none rather, with printing direct on the inlay of collars).
• Baseball shirts, mock neck long sleeves, logo baseball caps and toques.

We want to offer you our backers the highest quality prints available that matches the detail in our designs.  We plan on using various types of printing techniques on our garments which include screen printing, digital to garment (DTG) or heat transfer methods.

On screen printed garments will include using plastisol or discharged inks.  We will also use heat transfer or DTG methods using the best inkjet equipments.

If you would like a shirt in a different size, message us with the design and size you want and we'll let you know if it's available.

• 2 new sticker designs will be available.
• An alternative "STOP WATCHING US" design will be released.

• 2 additional colours will be available in t-shirt and crew sweatshirt garments.
• 2 baseball caps (grey & black) with Viva 10.23 logo will be available.
• All garments sold during the campaign will have a limited "Viva 10.23" badge with the Kickstarter funded date and goal achieved.

The Future

We have several post-funding plans coming up, and we want you to be involved. We will create a Viva 10.23 sub-reddit to crowdsource contributions of slogans or statements, and the most up-voted will be turned into designs. We want to continually crowdsource the best statements and designs speaking out on some of the most important issues of our time. The majority of our profits will be donated to different organizations relevant per round of new statement, and winning designers will get a cut. Viva 10.23 will be an incubator for designers, advocating any topics you care about, localized for the country you live in.

Viva 10.23 is political fashion. Fun and seriously stylish clothing for advocates of information freedoms and other worthy causes. P2P clothing, designed by the people, speaking for the people.
