Yes! You can turn off the GEM’s Bluetooth by tapping on it. This means the radio will remain turned off and all data will simply be stored to local flash. When you have a need to connect to your app or sync data, just tapping on the GEM to enable Bluetooth. The VITALI smart bra retains its core functionality independently of your phone or a Bluetooth connection.

The GEM runs on a lithium polymer battery, which typically supports 300-400 charges over the course of its life. Currently, the GEM can last for two days on a full change and we are still optimizing the GEM to improve the battery life. We estimate that the your GEM can last up to five week without charging, so we estimate the GEM’s battery will last 3-5 years with normal use.

The VITALI bra is rated at IP54 meaning it is dust protected and splash proof. Details below:

Dust protected - Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment.
Splash proof - Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect, utilizing either: a) an oscillating fixture, or b) A spray nozzle with no shield.
