Iceland is a small island country with a large personality and many ever-changing moods. To showcase this inspirational place of sheer natural beauty, a month long exhibit called Visible Iceland, is planned for November 2014 in Washington, D.C. at Hillyer Art Space to coincide with FotoWeek DC. This proposed show will exhibit breathtaking work from Icelandic and American photographers. In order to make this exhibit a reality, your support is needed. This fundraising campaign is designed to increase visual awareness and stimulate interest in the project. Most of the funds raised from the campaign will pay for the costs of photo printing/developing, framing, and promotional materials and exhibition catalog. Thank you for your time and consideration! Your support will help make Iceland Visible!
Featuring Friðgeir Helgason, Svavar Jonatansson, Katrín Elvarsdóttir, Rax Axelsson, Pall Stefansson, Elena Sheehan and Jillian Watkins.
Risks and challenges
The main intention for this project is to present work from well-accomplished photographers from both Iceland and the US who have been documenting the unique aspects of the country. As artists, printing, framing, shipping, insurance, among other associated costs are all expenses which erode the revenue that an artist can make when selling their work. We sincerely appreciate any contribution you are able to pledge!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
