The exciting, mysterious, crazy, dangerous world of the casino business... What is it really like? It is a place where you can change your life in the blink of an eye, whether losing or winning hundreds, thousands or even millions of dollars. It is a place where you walk on a thin line between having it all and being lost forever. As you see from our video, there are a lot of misconceptions about casinos, and we want to lift the curtain of mystery before you and show the REAL CASINO LIFE! Full of drama, fun, and temptations, it will keep you on the edge of your seat!
For the longest time, we couldn't decide if we want the show to be a reality show or a mockumentary. While working out the details, we actually came up with a totally new type of a television show. It's a combination of both. We'd like our show to be really funny with great humor and dirty jokes where sarcasm is just another service that we offer. Screenplays written by recognized writers and stand up comedians are what is going to make the show hilarious and addictive. Produced by competent experts in the industry and portrayed by experienced actors, this show has really great chances for success. And here comes the twist of this show. In addition to filming in our production studios, we are also going to be filming live in a casino. ANYONE will be able to come and become A PART OF THE SHOW. Our actors will be trained, licensed dealers and / or other casino employees and you will have a chance to meet them in person, interact with them and become a guest on the show. To understand this concept better, imagine this:
1) It's a reality show open to the public, where some parts are scripted and filmed in a production studio rather than a casino, OR
2) It's a mockumentary, and on a regular basis we film in a casino and later we use "the reality footage" as a significant part of our show.
What is your favorite show? Don't you think it would be awesome to be able to show up at the university where the big bang theory nerds work and have a conversation with Sheldon? Or order some paper from Michael Scott's office. Same here! Once you are in love with the characters, you ACTUALLY will be able to meet them in person!!!
The pilot is set to be filmed in Pittsburgh, PA. It is in our deepest interest to negotiate the production of the actual show in Pittsburgh, PA. Pittsburgh would be a great place for our show. It has great resources to make our show outstanding. Pittsburgh's production studios, local casinos, the Pennsylvania filmmaking tax break, and the Pittsburgh Film Office with great experts from the industry are what makes this location perfect for the show.
It's our dream, to make THIS SHOW THE BIGGEST AND MOST SUCCESSFUL TELEVISION SHOW EVER FILMED IN PITTSBURGH, PA.
In our preliminary discussions, a local casino and Pennsylvania Gambling Control Board expressed their interest in helping our show come to life.
The SOCIAL BENEFITS
1) First of all, one of our social orientations is the education of the public about problem gambling and dependencies. Please, GAMBLE RESPONSIBLY.
2) This show will create hundreds of new jobs. We would employ dozens of people to work on our production crew, and a hosting casino would additionally employ hundreds of people to be able to provide for increased customer traffic.
3) The city and state would dramatically benefit from tourism and taxes from casino revenues.
We are incredibly grateful to KICKSTARTER for an opportunity to make this difference in the world, create something great, something that not only would put a smile on people's face, but would also change the way we see certain things. Yes, ultimately it comes to the money that we have to have to produce the pilot for the show. But for us, Kickstarter is so much more than just an online platform to raise money. It's a place that erases the geographic boundaries, brings people together, and discovers great talents. So many times in the last year I was told that one little girl cannot make this idea come to life. I was told that one has to have wealthy parents or a show biz partner to make something like this come to life. Please, let me prove that one person supported by YOU through Kickstarter CAN and WILL make this happen! Please, make your donation and please, please, please, SHARE AND REPOST all of the links to all of your social media sites so that more people know about this project! If you want to help with production, please facebook us at http://www.facebook.com/CasinoDealersor http://www.facebook.com/elena.stacy. If you are a filmmaker from Pittsburgh, a stand up comedian, a writer, a producer or anything else and you want to help, please let us know! If you want to be a guest on the pilot, please, LET US KNOW!
We are asking for $15,000 which we feel is an easy number to reach. After paying transaction fees and taxes and fulfilling our kickstarter rewards, we would probably end up having about $7,000-$9,000. That would be enough to rent good equipment (cameras, lighting, mics) and cover some very basic legal expenses.
However, if we have $50,000 we would be able to hire skilled camera operators, pay writers / comedians to help turn our ideas into great dialogue, hire experienced producers, and pay the actors.
If we have $100,000, in addition to all of the above, we would be able to rent a production studio to work more deliberately on our close up scenes to make sure we capture that perfect shot.
But to be completely honest, we'd like this project to be THE MOST SUCCESSFUL project in Kickstarter's Film&Video section!!! If it happens, we would get that crucial publicity before we even film the pilot. So many people will know about this project, and this will boost our chances of selling the idea to a really great, respected network.
I would like to thank some really great people who helped me with the production of this kickstarter project:
for infinite support, concept development, great music and drawings;
for filming and editing this video;
for great drawings;
for my most favorite part of this video and constant support in launching this project;
and Tammy Bregon, Chanler Guty, Monique Marie Minniti, Steven Siwiak, Pat Testa, Brett Schimmel, Debbie Will, David R Stacy, Thomas Stacy, Ryan Sullivan, Pierce Cook, Jessica Peconi Cook for your input in this project!!!
I also would like to thank Taya for making me believe in myself and move forward.
And last, but not least, I'd like to thank Amanda Palmer
for the inspiration and for showing all of us what KICKSTARTER is capable of!!!
The most obvious problem would be not fundraising enough money. If we only get $15,000 leaving us with $7,000-$9,000 money to spend on production, we would have to work on a very tight budget, thus making us sacrifice on many things.
The next problem might be time. As of right now, we have 3 months to fulfill our kickstarter obligations and film the pilot. Sometimes during production, some unforeseen things come up that delay the production process. Please, guys, be patient! It will be worth it!
