Village of Legends 'The Reaper's Hand' is a fantasy-themed card game for 1-6 players, ages 10 and up.
In this game players choose a unique Hero and enhance them by combining their individual skills with purchased items from the market including; weapons, spells, scrolls, treasures and more.
We welcome back our brave combatants who have survived thus far as well as daring fresh blood. Test your skills against your friends in classic PvP mode or work together to explore this strange new world in co-op mode… at your own peril.
Players will have the choice of deciding on a Hero or selecting one at random. In addition to the 6 base game Heroes (Elf, Mage, Paladin, Dwarf, Barbarian and Warrior) three new Heroes join the fray: Necromancer, the Dark Elf and the Red Mage. Each Hero has a unique skill set including an intelligence value, weapon bonuses and/or other abilities and weaknesses written on their sheets. All of the Hero character boards will be both in the male and female versions.
Buying and selling
By playing Money cards from their hand players can buy any face up cards from the Market Board. Items can be purchased from the Market by paying the price indicated on the bottom right-hand corner.
Items which price has a golden background can be sold from a player’s hand for an amount of equal to half their price.
By playing Weapon cards from their hand players can attack another player or monster. Roll a die to see how much damage will be inflicted: damage is equal to the roll of the die, modified by any +/- bonuses next to the die icon.
...and a handcrafted item to help you on your way!
Place the Sheath card in front of your hero sheet. At any point during your turn or following turns you can sheath a weapon from your hand by placing it on top of the sheath card. When you want to play that weapon discard both cards. This item can help any class of hero to avoid unlucky hands and is a useful item for anyone who uses heavy weapons.
Each Hero has a unique skill set including an intelligence value written on their sheets. Intelligence allows Heroes to cast spells or to activate magic abilities. The value indicated on the Hero Board shows the amount of Intelligence points available at the beginning of each turn and can be increased for the current turn by using certain scrolls or magical items.
Player Vs Player (From 2-6 players): Both your strategic moves and a little luck are needed to defeat your opponents in this fast paced game.
CO-OP (From 1-6 players): Although exploring the dark dungeons alone is not recommended, this game is designed in the way that it can be played as a solo game or up to 6 players.
The Reaper's Hand box will contain new material including new cards, new character boards, more than 150 mini-cards. Players will be called on to make choices which will lead them down numerous paths, bouncing from chapter to chapter and facing the challenges based both their character type, the choices they have made and, as always, fate could rest on the roll of the dice.
For every quest that the Heroes embark on, a deck will be made up of selected dungeon-cards. When the party has overcome the selected cards it is ready to face the final monster which will complete the quest and unlock its secrets.
Here's a look at some of the monsters the Heroes will meet on their adventures. Some standard sized cards will also be added to the PvP base game.
Loot: Getting items by killing monsters
In the CO-OP version players build their decks using the loot gathered by defeating monsters, different cards will be available depending on the type of monster they kill.
Hero growth and skill path
During the match the players will also have the possibility to strengthen their hero by reaching defined Experience levels. When these levels are reached by killing monsters the Hero’s ability is automatically unlocked.
If any of the Heroes have reached level 2 of experience points at the end of the quest they automatically gain any one Basic skill of their choice. The skills are listed on the “Hero Sheet” and allow Heroes to learn new abilities and gain bonus cards to add to their deck. If the player does not want to choose a Basic skill they can instead choose to move up a learning stage towards gaining an Advanced skill.
There are three stages to learning an advanced skill. Heroes to move towards gaining an advanced skill by filling in a learning stage found on the Hero Sheet. When both stages have already been the third stage is an advanced skill. At the third step players can choose one advanced skill for their Hero. Once a Hero has gained an advanced skill the player must rub out the learning stages. Any skills gained by Heroes are permanent and Heroes can use them until they die.
That player eliminates the Required Resources from their inventory or from their deck. By doing this they can search the main deck for the "item" they have crafted and add it to their own deck.

Just a friendly reminder as to why we're on Kickstarter. For us: it allows us to produce a higher quality game with all of your suggestions and input and backing. For you unlock exclusive goals, you get the game at a lower price and you get it hot off the press before anyone else!
Even if the new expansion has already been shaped and forged we still need to work out some of the fixes. After all of these illustrations, late nights spent testing and getting lost in translation with his ally Deane, Lorenzo has finished his intelligence and used every spell thus finishing his turn. Now it is up to you. We are all ears for suggestions from YOU, the players, if you want to contribute and reshape the product before production through comments and suggestions.
Being a Kickstarter campaign, the final production will take place after the campaign and may be subject to change. However have faith in us as we strive to produce the highest quality products to the best of our ability, all changes will be to improve the product and led by user feedback.
Risks and challenges
After the success of our last campaign we realize we're not veterans yet but we had a crash course and we're well on the way. We remind you that the delivery dates are estimates, we have estimated enough time for this however, we kindly ask that you remember it is an estimate and not a definitive date. We remind you that we offer competitive, fixed delivery rates for US and Canada shipping, EU friendly shipping areas, Some customs policies are completely out of our hands and we're subject the rules and regulations which change in every country. Even though we were pleased with the quality of the material produced in the last campaign there's always room for improvement. We'll keep it in mind when choosing for the production phase. We are more than equipped to deal with any shipping problems as we opt for curriers which have good options when dealing with exceptions (such as pick-up points etc.)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
