My Story - Discovering Passion in Classical Music:
At the age of 7, as a small boy in a little corner of Belgrade, Serbia, I remember singing at the dining room table with my mum and in those few moments, a crack opened into the mysterious world of classical music – a world filled with love and tragedy, passion and life – and I was launched on a quest to discover what gripping elements lay within the great music of our time and times past. That little boy then came over to London at the age of 11, with a scholarship to a specialist music school (The Purcell School of Music) and then went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music, always playing concerts and trying to find new ways to communicate his love for music...
Classical music nowadays often feels pushed into a corner of the loft, hidden behind old telephones, typewriters and the tricycle and yet it possesses a magical, timeless quality that can speak to everybody. This project is here as the start of a vision to make the magical world of classical music open to all, regardless of how much or little prior knowledge they have about it. I am inviting you to join with me in this mission to bring our musical heritage to a new generation, so that millions can continue to discover what magnificent depths and emotional power this music holds.
Why am I here on Kickstarter?
I am on Kickstarter because of my love for music - and my vision of classical music as something which has a place in every person's life, at least at certain times. There have been countless studies and scientific proof but I know from personal experience how classical music has the power to heal, transform and bring joy and I want to share this love for it with as many people as possible through my next CD and for that - I would like to ask for your help.
My new CD has already been recorded (in the beautiful Jacqueline du Pre Hall, in St Hilda's College, Oxford) and I am very, very excited about it! I now need to raise the funds for CD design, duplication and marketing! I hope to have the CD hot off the press and flying out to your hands by the end of June!!
About the new CD:
I have always found that my audience really enjoy hearing a few words about the pieces before I play them in concerts, therefore this CD has a narrated introduction track by me, where I say a little bit about each piece and about the composer - I believe that is the first time that has been done on a classical music CD.
All those who give a pledge of any size will be able to download companion tracks for free (one for each piece on the CD) as a special thank you for your support; on these tracks I will talk about each work and composer in much more detail, telling you about what was going on their lives and what inspired them to compose the pieces, as well as how I feel playing them.
On this CD I am performing some of my absolute favourites - I believe that most of you may know quite a few of them from every day situations (Chopin Nocturne), from films (Clair de Lune by Debussy - Castaway, Ocean's Eleven...) and even cartoons (Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Liszt - as played by Tom and joyfully disrupted by Jerry)!

Risks and challenges
Risks and Challenges:
Since the album has already been recorded, the main hurdle is out of the way! I hope to employ the services of a fantastic design company and the company which will duplicate the CDs has successfully done so on a daily basis so for many years, so the only thing I can foresee is a possible extension of the release date (which is currently late June 2013) - should we run into some little snags on the way. In any case, if the incentives goal is met, you will have the CD in your hand/downloaded to your iTunes very soon!! :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
