All About The Moon is a short film about a young man, Marlon Maysen, who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). For Marlon’s sake, his alters decide to escape from the St. Henri Mental Health Institute which he has been locked up in for five years. While he is chased and persecuted by Joseph Bloom, the Director of the institute, Marlon tries to reconcile his past and the ties with his sister, Rose.
With All About The Moon we focus on the struggles that occur when living with a mental illness. Through our main character, Marlon Maysen and the antagonist of the film, Director Joseph Bloom, with two contradicting perspectives, we attempt to question the responsibilities on the matter of Dissociative Identity Disorder.
We explore the relationship between two siblings, Rose and Marlon. With trust and disbelief being the core theme of the film, Marlon seeks recognition from his sister, the recognition that he never got as a child.
As DID is a very complex and delicate matter, which we believe is not always well represented in movies, we are trying to be as faithful as possible to the cause. So, even though the story of Marlon Maysen is a piece of fiction, we will try to be as realistic as we can in representing DID and embodying the different alters. For this matter, we have a team of sensitive, hardworking and enthusiastic individuals. We have sought out the help of professionals, such as psychologists, we have done extensive research on the topic and we will try our very best to make an authentic short film, whilst keeping it entertaining.
Our crew is devised of a multitude of aspiring filmmakers that simply want to make good meaningful content. As Met Film school students, we have got to know one another over the past year whilst studying and have come understand where each other’s strengths and weakness lie, allowing us to become a more efficient team.
Along with a hard working crew we have an extraordinary and incredibly talented cast. Our wonderful lead Louis Hall has been in a multitude of projects, such as Breaking the Band, Young Lions and That Face. And Stephen Chance has an amazingly extensive filmography, he has been in productions like, The Crown, Sherlock Holmes & the Final Case and many more!
Over this past year, whilst studying at film school, we’ve come to learn that filmmaking is all about collaboration and team effort. As aspiring filmmakers, we understand that this collaboration extends far beyond just the crew! As Vivienne likes to put it ‘we need help from you my lovelies!’ to get this project off the ground! Your donations will greatly help us to make this film into a reality. Quite early on in the process the entire crew realised that in order to make the film that we want, we will have to use crowdfunding to raise the money for the resources that we need and as Kickstarter has the means to reach a large audience it was the most obvious choice.
Your contributions mean the world to us. Backers will regularly get updates along the way, receive amazing rewards, and be the first to know every step that the film is taking.
Share it with everyone! Your friends, family and loved ones. Show it to your teachers or employees. EVERYONE AND ANYONE!
Please help us by spreading the word! Tell everyone that it's All About The Moon!
The majority of the funds will go towards the production. As we aim to make the film to a high standard and produce a professional quality piece. Our crew will work tirelessly to make this project into a reality and with your pledges being divided into the correct departments we will one step closer to achieving that.
Just to reassure you all, we have broken down the script several times to reach an amount that best suits the project. Even the boring (but important) aspects too, such as debit card processing fees, accounting and additional costs to keep this project running at full steam.
If we exceed our budget, then we will literally shoot the film on the Moon! In all honesty, each department of the production will be able to excel further as per how much we exceed our budget by!
£250 – Set design peeps!
Set design will have more freedom with the appearance and the feel of the film. We will be able to add those small props that will amplify the overall look.
£500 – Locations, locations, locations!
We will be spoiled for choice when it comes to locations. Exceeding our budget will enable us to go further out of London to find the perfect place to represent St Henri Mental Health Centre. Along with any other locations we may need.
£1000 – Equipment, EQUIPMENT EVERYWHERE!
Kit crew will be going NUTS to get their hands-on the latest gear! Having better kit will allow the DoP to come up with more cinematic shots to bump up the quality. Not just that, more advanced sound equipment will make you feel like you're actually there!
£2000 - All About The Above + cooler costumes!
HAPPY DAYS! By helping us exceed our goals you have now allowed us to use all this extra money to make the project we could only dream of. As well as set design, locations and equipment, this extra milestone will enable us to get help from industry professionals in costumes and makeup, reaching a higher level of filmmaking that we aspire to deliver.

Risks and challenges
With our core team already locked, it is quite important to mention that we are students currently studying at MetFilm School, London. Learning the ways of the industry. This is our first ever Kickstarter campaign, so if there are any confusions in communicating the correct information with you, we apologise. That is the reason why the dates for receiving the rewards are so far ahead. We decided that if we spend more time creating your rewards, the better quality they would be.
We will try our hardest to avoid any complications, but we can assure you that every member of our team will do their absolute best to overcome any problems that may arise.
We don't anticipate any major challenges, but should the unexpected pop-up, we'll be sure to communicate any issues or delays with you right away.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
