THE PROJECT: VIENTO CALLEJERO’S first recording represents the artistic collaboration the trio was inspired to create.
The band was greatly influenced by artists Lucho Bermudez, Orquesta Sonora Curro, Los Corraleros de Majagual, Peregoyo y su Combo Vacana and wanted to pay tribute to these artists by recreating classic songs. The fusing together of organic and electronic components gave the songs a newer and more contemporary sound.
The trio’s relative upbringing and exposure to urban music such as Rock, Soul, Hip-Hop, Reggae, & Tropical were also key components in how each song was developed. It was also important for the band to collaborate with other independent artists and to showcase the talent and musical camaraderie of the Latin Indie Music scene.
The album is currently being recorded at Bedrock Studios with Producer/Engineer Eugene Toale (Kanye, Raekwon).
The record consists of both original material and Classic Cumbia songs interpreted in a modern flavor with the help of guest musicians Martha Gonzalez (Quetzal), Eddika Organista (El Haru Kuroi), Leah Gallegos (Las Cafeteras), Edgar Modesto (Buyepongo) and Hector Guerra (Pachamama Crew).

Viento Callejero is in the process of completing our first recording and need your help to finish our album. As independent artists, it is important for us to feel free to create and interpret music that holds special meaning to us and to present it in a way that’s relatable to all music lovers.
Our mission on this record has been to create dance music that entices the body to move and feel good. That Inspiration has guided us through the material’s arranging, development and the creation of our own Cumbia flavor or “Musica Callejera”. From that purity and much love we want to share this infectious-feel-good-dance music.
We look to you, our community, friends, family, fans, and the grace of strangers to help this musical dream become a reality!

Risks and challenges
For our Kickstarter campaign, we decided to set the goal at $8,000. In reality, the album will be more expensive (closer to $10,000) But we didn't want to be overambitious, so we set the bar a little lower than the actual cost and making of the album, since it can still help us a great deal.
The album will be made regardless but will be delayed a few months until we acquire the money to complete the album.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
