2 Days to go, ALMOST THERE!
(sorry for dyslexic errors; typically I have my wife, Anna edit my posts, but we are both so busy and I felt it was better to get an update out)
We are so, so close. We are 84% of the way there and we just need $731 to fund our first stretch goal to fund additional versions of the books at different reading levels. We have $14,269 pledged!
Please, please keep pushing your networks and consider raising your pledge.
We had our final KickStarter open house yesterday and the response was AMAZING - We had a fantastic turnout and have had 63 new backers over the weekend, yeh!
We have over 1,000 books in our free Vidya Books for schools, libraries and researchers. If we can get just one stretch goal, we can have an even bigger impact.
The chart below shows how fragmented reading levels are. This is from the department of Ed's assessment of fourth graders. Take a second to take this in. They say that two thirds of kids are bellow 'proficient' and one third below 'basic' at FORTH GRADE. What is going to happen to those kids, what materials do teachers and parents really have and how many of those kids will NEVER catch up. We make video games work at different difficulty levels, we can do that for books!
