What if the Great Pyramid of Rome stood next to the Colosseum... in Athens?! What if three of history’s greatest empires could meet at the peak of their power? What if a small independent studio in Bulgaria (yup, it’s a real country) decided to challenge large MMO producers with a kickass crowdfunded title that is actually both challenging and fun?
Maybe you’ll find the answers in Victus: a history-defying, and humorous take on classic MMOs. Order the likes of Ramses, Julius Caesar, and Leonidas around. Don’t be offended by their language: all of them will swear, complain, and tell you they are better, but will occasionally offer a good advice. Use it to create the ultimate empire and prove your worth.
Construct buildings, buy some troops and give us $$$ if you want to win! Hooray!
We’re also fed up with these types of games. You deserve something better than this, don’t you?
In Victus you will be able to choose among three of the mightiest civilizations of the Antiquity. However, don't choose them only for their looks, because their features differ a lot and will respectively suit different play styles. See for yourself:
Being naturally humble and soft-spoken, we believe that our art is *beep* awesome! All elements in the cities are 3D rendered and the in-game characters are hand drawn. In the crafting process we were inspired by history, architecture and the different styles that were popular in the strategy genre game art through the years.
Listen to the tracks we recorded for each civilization and immerse yourself in Victus Game's atmosphere.
We have been working on Victus for a year and a half. All of us have invested a lot of timе, effort and funds and we are close to releasing our Beta. But to keep working on it and to implement all interesting features we've planned, we need two things - a player community and some financial security. That's why we decided to reach out to Kickstarter.

Victus Team is a troop of 10 gaming enthusiasts profiled in various aspects of game development - coding, art, business, game design.
Not that we are bragging (we are), but our game designer- Rado ‘Gadina’ Mirchev stands behind the first serious board game produced by a Bulgarian team - Bright Future. In 2015 Bright Future was 300% funded in a successful Kickstarter campaign and was published.
Rado is also the game designer of Jungle Trolls Reborn (JTR) - a survival roleplay game which uses the Warcraft III graphics and game engine and is in top 10 MODS on Hive Workshop with more than 50k downloads.
Peter, one of our co-founders and also art director of the team, has several years of experience working as a senior lighting and rendering 3D artist at WorldWide FX, here in Sofia. Some of the notable titles he worked on include Legend of Hercules (we haven't heard this one either), Expendables 3 and London has Fallen.
Our CTO, Yanko Simeonov, has vast experience in developing browser games, including titles such as Khan Wars and right now is on the verge of delivering his masterpiece.
Risks and challenges
We have already worked on this project for a year and a half. All basic game mechanics have been implemented and are currently up and running. Right now we are perfectly able to launch a game server for “just another browser MMO” – a good looking browser MMO though! You can gather resources, construct buildings, produce troops and
send raids to enemy players!... Well, this is not enough for us. We want to improve the game and add many additional features. They have been designed and our dev team is already working on them.
This requires about 6 months for all features we have announced. However, we have chosen a more conservative delivery date for some of the stretch goals, because we want to make sure we will deliver in time. Actually these features will not appear out of the blue after 6 months – we will implement them one by one and you will enjoy them much sooner, as you participate in the testing and leave feedback. There is a certain risk that testing may prove that a feature doesn’t work as intended or needs polishing – but that's a perfectly normal thing and we will keep you up to date and involved in the process of development.
However, we must tell you we are pretty sure that in 6 months the game will NOT be perfectly balanced yet. We hope you will show some understanding and try to see the fun in that :)
• It might turn out that we are unable to finish coding one or another particular feature we promised until November 2016;
• if there are too many backers and test players, we’ll have to rent bigger servers and there might be server restarts and server maintenance hours (although we will actually welcome new players because we want to build a healthy community, we will give priority to the KS backers until we increase server maintenance for everyone else).
