Three weeks to go!
Hi Shapeless Shape Backers!
Well it's been just over one week and we have been overwhelmed by your kind messages of support. Thanks for backing this project with so much enthusiasm!
Now, here's a quick update about what's happening behind the scenes:
Proofs are in!
We reviewed and finalized the proofs of the book. The cover, paper, and illustrations have turned out beautifully. There's just enough detail to notice the imperfections in the wooden shapes, yet they remain simple, bold, and visually captivating.
The fine folks behind the annual CUSP Conference let us sneak on stage to read the book to an audience of designers, educators, and makers. It was a treat to read the story and hear their feedback afterwards!
Most importantly, we've seen a slew of notes about why people are excited for this book:
- "As a parent you are always looking for unique ways to encourage your kids and spark their curiosity and dreams. These are the kinds of stories I want my daughter to read."
- "[...] a beautiful, soulful children's book"
- "I certainly identify with the shapeless shape that didn't fit in with the other shapes growing up..."
- "Some people know from an early age what they want to be when they grow up, and they stick with it. I went through a string of ideas myself - from 911 call center operator (yep, that's right) to classical musician - but none ever felt quite right. [This book] captures the feeling many of us feel at one time or another in the search to find a place we belong."
Because of you, this simple message is resonating and the story is spreading. Thank you!
Is there anything else you'd like to see from this project? Other updates? Rewards? Or do you have any questions? If so, leave a comment below, send us a message via Kickstarter or drop us a line at email@example.com.
Thanks again for being one of the people who's making this story and project come to life. We're so glad you're here!
