Victorfone is a solution to the global problem of bad mobile coverage. Not being able to reach your surroundings, via data or voice makes, your mobile phone useless. During time most people owning a mobile phone would have experienced this problem. With the smartphone the problem has increased, as manufacturers are having trouble combining a powerful antenna and a streamlined design.
However, with a Victorfone you can rely on always having signal on your expensive smartphone!
When developing the Victorfone we focused on multi-functionality. It can therefore serve multiple purposes, and the advanced software can adapt to the individual users needs.
Low-radiation - The Victorfone is a low radiation product. The Victorfone communicates via Wi-Fi. This means that the level of electromagnetic radiation is considerably lower when you talk on the mobile phone via a Victorfone than via the mobile phone antenna. This bonus enables you to minimize the risk of cell radiation from the mobile phone.
Portable - The Victorfone is easy to transport and set up anywhere. You can use it in your boat, car or camper. The Victorfone can be connected directly to a 12v power supply in a car or via a 230v power supply through an outlet. Furthermore, the Victorfone has a built-in backup power supply in order to ensure that brief power disruptions do not affect the operation of the Victorfone.
When you are on the go in your car the Victorfone will ensure a stabile coverage, even in areas with poor mobile reception.
When you are camping in the wild, or sailing in your boat the Victorfone will also come in handy. It is a easy and cheap solution to coverage problems in nature. With a Victorfone you will always have signal on your phone when you are enjoying leisure time in your boat or camper.
That's why the inventor of Victorfone chose action instead. The result was a solution to a worldwide problem as old as mobile phones themselves.
Our CEO Morten Boutrup was frustrated about bad mobile coverage in his home. He was forced to drive 500 meters away from his home, in order to receive or make a phone call. Telephone companies couldn't help, he was just unlucky to live in an area with bad coverage - they said.
He quickly realized that he wasn't the only person in Denmark with this problem. Actually he found it to be a global issue. So instead of complaining and being frustrated, he set out to do something about it!
With the help of two engineers he developed a simple prototype, which increased the signal of the mobile providers and ensured good coverage in his home.
The focus of the first prototype was functionality. It was a simple constellation of different technical components put on top of each other. Thus the name the burger. All though it worked they way it should, it wasn't practical in design. So the second prototype was constructed with in a simple Ikea cookie jar. This was a prototype based on the same technical functions as the first, but in a more convenient design.
Today the Victorfone is transformed to a finished highly functional product, which will help people all over the world. The design is simple and user-friendly.
The drive that made Morten do something about his coverage problems, is still what drives us today. The mission of Victorfone is therefore simple - To eliminate bad mobile coverage once and for all!
I'm glad you asked. It's quite simple really:
A Victorfone works without any connection to broadband or telephone wires. Instead you insert a SIM-card directly into the Victorfone. You can use the existing SIM-card from your smartphone, or purchase a second SIM-card from your mobile provider. The Victorfone acts as an independent multi functional router with a strong antenna. A Victorfone captures the telephone companies signal, where the smartphone cannot And amplifies this signal. Effectively providing you with up to quadruple the signal strength. It transmit the signal to its surroundings as a stable Wi-Fi signal. On your smartphone you install the Victorfone app, which allows you to log on the Victorfone Wi-Fi signal. Thus, ensuring a good signal on you smartphone, without any other connection than the already existing signal from telephone companies masts.
The Victorfone is developed with a focus on usability. It's easy to install, and easy to use. In fact it only takes four steps. The first step is booting the Victorfone and inserting the SIM-card. The second step is positioning the Victorfone. Make sure you position your Victorfone where the existing signal in your house is best. You can increase the signal strength on your Victorfone even more, by using an outdoor antenna. It is simple to attach the external antenna to your Victorfone. The third step is login on to the App. Once you've logged on, it is easy to do use the Victorfone. Step four is therefore simply to call, text or use mobiledata.
In the video Morten demonstrates the simple steps of using a Victorfone. The video is filmed at Mortens farm, where he couldn't make calls before he invented the Victorfone. As a demonstration, he calls our project manager in China.
The Victorfone is a danish patent pending invention, certified to use in all EU countries (including Norway, Iceland and Switzerland). In other words it is a complicated technical invention. You might not care about how it works, as long as it works. But if you are interested in knowing the technical specification here's what you need to know:
The short version:
The longer version:
A Victorfone separates your smartphone from its antenna. Placing the Victorfone where the coverage is best in your house, car, camper, or boat, allows you to move around and talk on the mobile phone without coverage problems.
Although the history of Victorfone is brief, a lot of hard work have been done to get to where we are today. It started with an everyday problem, which fueled the drive to create a ground-breaking invention. The story of Victorfone takes us back to 2014:
This Kickstarter campaign is the most exciting phase of Victorfones history so far. It allows us to finally offer our solution to those who face the everyday frustration of bad mobile coverage.
In the long term Victorfone will be sold to consumers trough a distribution network. This is a necessity in order to fulfill our mission, as we do not have the capabilities to handle distribution ourselves. This Kickstarter campaign is therefore a unique opportunity to be the first owner of a Victorfone, while also getting it at a favorable price.
We wish to be completely transparent about how we spend the funds from those who back our campaign:
The funds from this campaign ensures the production of the Victorfone Version One. Furthermore it enables us to invest in the Victorfone Version Two. In other words, we will continue to improve the software of our product. The Victorfone is build to automatically update its software. Any changes or updates to the software, will therefore also apply to the first version of the Victorfone. The money you spend now, therefore funds the production of the Victorfone, but also the continuing improvement of it.
We have a lot of ideas and want to keep developing the Victorfone. But we also want your feedback. So as a Victorfone owner you have the opportunity to suggest improvements for the next version of the Victorfone, which will also apply to your version.
"We want to help people and therefore keep an open dialog with the users." - CEO, Morten Boutrup

Risks and challenges
The Victorfone is developed for the European market, and certified to all use in all EU countries (including Norway, Iceland and Switzerland).
Due to the discrepancy between the GSM frequency band used in Europe (900/1800MHz) and North America (850/1900MHz), the Victorfone will not work as intended in the US (And countries using the North American GSM frequency band).
This is due to the technical specifications of the Victorfone. However, depending on the demand, we will introduce a Victorfone intended for the North American market.
