Two Weeks Left
With the help of you, our valiant supporters, we have passed the 35% mark half-way through our campaign. 47 of you have shown your support and we are grateful. If we keep the current pace of donations, however, we will only reach 62% of our target. While that's unfortunate, I know a few things:
- Most Kickstarter projects that reach 30% of their goal get funded by their deadline.
- Most successful Kickstarter projects pick up speed towards the end.
- With your help, we're going to kick this project into high gear.
That said, it is getting down to the wire. Two weeks left means it is crunch time for promotion of this project.
I just printed 1,000 beautiful, full-color 4x6 postcards featuring Tanya's art and photos of the real Geoff. Starting this weekend, I will be handing them out and posting them in stores and community centers around the Bay Area. If you live or work in a neighborhood where people would want to know about this project, please email v @ victorb.net with your address and the number of postcards you think you could distribute.
Getting these cards into the hands of parents, children, and dog-lovers everywhere will help drive us towards and over our goal. Please help if you can. With your help I know we can reach our $5,500 goal, but we really want to blow the lid off this Kickstarter campaign. After fees and taxes, $5,500 will barely pay for the hardware and software we need to finish this app. That doesn't leave any money left over for the people who have already put their time into this project, and it doesn't let us hire any more people to help finish it.
There are still over 20 pages left to animate and make interactive. While I'm not writing these updates and telling people about the campaign, I have been busy getting Tanya's beautiful final art out of Photoshop and into the app. Very soon I hope to complete some more animated and interactive pages. When I do, I will post a video update which showcases some of the features the final book app will contain. When there's more to show, you'll be the first to know.
