ViceVersa Magazine

ViceVersa Magazine

ViceVersa Magazine is a weekly online publication that promotes the talent and achievements of Latinos, Hispanics and the Spanish-speaking community in general. At the core of the magazine is the belief that the Latino community consists of talented, creative and analytical individuals. It is their achievements, their work, their talent, and their stories that are on display in ViceVersa Magazine every week.

ViceVersa Magazine was born with the goal of highlighting the side of Latin America that is often invisible to many. We do so week after week by giving and echoing the voices of those who study, work hard, are creative and achieve their dreams. By doing so, the magazine has become a platform for showcasing the analytical and creative potential and insight of this wonderfully diverse community.

Nuestro contenido

Our readers

ViceVersa Magazine’s readership has grown steadily and organically since it was launched in 2014. From the first year to the second, there was a 90% growth in readership.

ViceVersa Magazine brings together different worlds. Its virtual pages are open to anyone who wants to dive into its content from anywhere in the world.

Nuestras metas futuras

Our future goals

The Spanish-speaking community in the world is growing exponentially and it is increasingly more educated and demanding. Just in the United States and according to the latest official statistics, Hispanics/Latinos represent 17.6% of the population, totaling 56.6 million people. Among them, the number of Hispanics/Latinos who go to college, achieve post-graduate degrees, and hold important positions in various professional fields, is also growing exponentially.

ViceVersa Magazine wants to continue growing so as to provide a voice for everyone.

Together, we can achieve this goal. Together, we can prove that our cultural diversity and its contributions are invaluable. Together, we can further disseminate the inspiring stories of young and established Latinos.

With your help, the projects we want to develop in the next months are:

1. A collectable quarterly printed magazine.

2. Organizing events with renown guest speakers who will encourage reflection, analysis and debate. We’ve recently organized our first such event on Political Satire and Freedom of Speech in Latin America, in collaboration with the Department of Continuing Education and Public Programs at The Cooper Union, about. Thanks to our distinguished guest speakers: Enrisco (Cuba), Bonil (Ecuador), Feggo (Mexico), Rayma Suprani, Elisa Totaro, Juan Andrés Ravell (Venezuela), we promoted a rich discussion and reflection on the difficult situation in which many journalists work in Latin America.

Ayúdala a crecer.

Why do we do it? Because…

We believe in those who drink gallons of coffee to stay awake and create, in those who hang their caps and gowns and are ready to devour the Big Apple, in those who give back to Latin America everything they have gotten through each page, canvas, sheet of music, shot, and dish they make.

We believe that everything can be achieved through culture.

We believe that energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it transforms from one form to another. Therefore, our work consists of transforming nostalgia and homesickness through the ink of our pens and brushes.

We believe in the Spanish language, its taste of home, evoking the smell of our land, its most amazing possibilities of wordplay, and its warmth, like that of a mother’s hug at the airport.

We believe that we belong to a unique community, which day to day teaches the world the strength of irony, the value of rhythm and the danger of poetry.

If you also believe that community, join ViceVersa Magazine, use it as your megaphone and help us grow.

Risks and challenges

--

We know it isn’t easy to sell words and images, that the most popular pictures are those taken by paparazzis, that humor created by cartoonists can be terrifying for some. We also know that there are those who think that creativity, information, and opinions are not prime necessities.

But, can you imagine a world without the written word, photography, illustrations, and art? It would be like trying to paint a rainbow without colors.

We are committed to continuing to provide a space and a forum for all the talent and creativity in the Spanish-speaking community. We firmly believe in ViceVersa Magazine’s values and in its potential for growth. Because we believe in you.
