Detective Richard D. Dick, a 1940’s private investigator, is within spitting distance of unraveling a major caper. When Dick gets too close to piecing together the pie, he’s frozen by a mysterious stranger and thaws out sixty nine years later in 2016. Dick is thrust into our strange, new, technological world in his hapless pursuit to find out who put him on ice. The defrosted detective reopens the cold case and is hot on the trail of new leads as Dick attempts to crack the biggest nut he’s ever faced, the case of "The Big Frozen Gumshoe".
Detective Richard D. Dick
Dick is a classic, 1940’s film noir-styled private investigator. Dick is a man out of time in our modern technology-driven society. Straight outta the freeze, he hits the ground running (and tripping over himself a few times) gathering clues and following the breadcrumbs in an attempt to find his freezer and solve the cold case he was working sixty nine years prior.
Detective Dick will be played by Gregg Goldsbury.
All character designs created by Jake Brady. His illustrations are also being used by our production design team to coordinate the look and feel of "The Big Frozen Gumshoe."
Kid, who isn’t a kid at all, is a street smart, baby-faced, enthusiastic young hustler attempting to make it in the world of gumshoein’. Always looking for a small time scam to make a big buck. Part Encyclopedia Brown, part hooligan, Kid’s techie background and modern day resourcefulness support Dick in his case crackin’ attempts.
Kid will be played by Braden Bullard.
Lady will be played by Beverly Blanchette.
Jan will be played by Amy Hoerler.
Check back soon as we count down the end of our campaign by announcing more cast members on our official Facebook page. The "Characters" section will be updated after each announcement.

We are confident in our ability to produce a great film at our budget. All of us have worked on feature length films at this level before and our extremely creative, resourceful, and professional attitudes and abilities will be the catalyst that helps us achieve our goal.
Filmmaking is an extremely rewarding yet expensive process. We want to be able to provide the best possible working experience for everyone involved, which is why we are here, asking for your to help make that happen. We have already secured locations for filming, as well as our equipment rentals (Canon C300 camera package, lighting, sound, grip and support gear and equipment truck).
The money raised on Kickstarter will go towards meals and craft service for cast and crew, purchasing key antique props and costumes from the 1940’s to give our film a more authentic feel, insurance, additional production design and cast and crew costs, and the inevitable daily costs that we incur during production days.
Follow us here, on Facebook or Twitter as we document the process of creating The Big Frozen Gumshoe. As we continue through pre-production and into production, we’ll be providing you with stills, videos, and other behind the scenes sneak peeks to keep you involved with the movie, so please keep checking back in to see the progress of this Kickstarter and the film.
Risks and challenges
Filmmaking is an arduous journey where regardless of how much preparation you put in, there will always be unforeseen obstacles in your way, especially on micro-budgeted films. Using the experience we’ve gained over our careers, in addition to the pre-production of our film, is the foundation which successful films can be built.
We need your help in order to bring The Big Frozen Gumshoe to life. Not only will you be helping us finance the movie, but you are the audience we are making this film for. As much as all of our parents want to see this, we’d also like to share it with the world, and we’d love to start our global domination with you.
Thank you for checking out our campaign and taking the time to consider our project. Feel free to contact us on any of our various forms of social media if you have any questions. We appreciate any and all support we receive and look forward to embarking on this adventure together!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
