LumiMan - Ultimate Multitasking Action Figure And Light (Canceled)
A combination of a robot toy action figure helper, multi purpose holder and cool high intensity LED task light.
I'm not just the ultimate high intensity LED task light, I'm a multipurpose handcrafted action figure helper. Whether in the office, kitchen, entertaining, dining or garage, I help make your tasks much easier.
The body, arms and legs have a unique design that allows specifically designed magnets and brackets to attach in the slots and move up and down. They can hold smartphones, tablets, caddies and all kinds of accessories (see gallery).
LumiMan's head is made out of machined aircraft grade aluminum. It's available in two finishes, natural aluminum satin or powder coated black. It has a convex glass lens that is reversible for either a focused spotlight or wide pattern illumination. It contains the LED controller.
So many products today are controlled by apps or unnecessarily tethered to your smartphone. We find it refreshing to create products that you actually interact with without the need of an external device to make it happen for you. No app required and no smartphone control required.
The light head is available in two versions - a very bright 10W 700 Lumen white LED with a touch dimmer switch.
A second option is RGB LED that is controlled by a RF remote. It allows red, green, blue, purple, white colors. Several modes are available. The remote attaches to the Lumiman by a magnet mount and allows instant control of the LED. Again, no app or smartphone control required.
The handcrafted body arms and legs are a unique design made of sustainable fur wood separated by aluminum spacers. The fur is available in two color stains. The stain is an eco-friendly and non-toxic water base stain with no odor and low V.O.C. and brings out the rich grain and knot structure of the fur wood. Nylon insert locking nuts allow for adjustment of the tension of the arms and legs to configure multiple of positions for various uses (see gallery).
The neck is a specific design ball joint that allows full 360 rotation and 90 down and up of the LED light. it also rotates 180 around the 'shoulders' of the body. This allows all area illumination whether ceiling, floor, desk and walls.
The feet have rubber pads so it wont scratch or slide.
The LumiMan has special modified tension nuts that can be adjusted for the proper tension to move the legs, arms and body to all the the user to design various modes - sitting, standing, running, dancing, climbing or whatever appeals to you.
The head, neck, legs, feet, arms and hands are adjustable and can be moved in any direction. Move the hands, arms, legs and feet in any direction and choose your favorite position.

Just having a little fun with the two lighthead Lumiman.
My first robot was built by me in junior high school. I named it Audie the automaton, aka GSI-256. It was my science project entrance to the Buhl Planetarium exhibits in Pittsburgh. It took me six months to build working on it every day after school and on Saturdays in addition to my school work.
Audie was 4 FT tall and cost me (at that time) a whopping $50 to build. It was made with a toy space helmet for the head, stovepipes for the legs, Victrola gears wound the electric magnet for he claws which operated on the fulcrum joins and electric motor for motive power which propelled the entire figure on wheels. A radio and “shocker” in the event someone wanted to shake hands (the girls loved it).
Risks and challenges
No risks. The LumiMan and LumiKid are already prototyped and being built. The jigs are already made and materials will begin to be ordered.
