The Veranthea Codex Kickstarter was a rousing success and we're running this project to bring the rest of the most radical gaming world to life!
Since the release of Veranthea Codex we've made a steady supply of awesome gaming books (The Black Knight, Radical Pantheon, Into the Veil, Lost Legends of Urethiel) but in order to keep this train going we need funds to pay for custom artwork, killer cartography, compensation for designers, and all the other sundry that creating a truly vibrant world requires.
That's where you come in!
In the links above you'll find previews for all four titles (and don't forget The Matoriksu) so you have an idea of what you're getting, and if you're keen to more free stuff (and who isn't?) there are four preview PDFs from the Veranthea Codex we encourage you to enjoy: Beztekorps Prestige Class, Scientific Innovator Braxthar Grimdrahk, The Master in Irons Shojo Matsumo, and Top Pilot of Trectoyri Spoony Jaws.
What exactly are you funding?
Our initial funding goal is for preparing print files for Radical Pantheon, Into the Veil, Lost Legends of Urethiel, and The Black Knight. While some of these titles will get new artwork or content, only the latter adventure will have a significant addition (a cast of pre-generated Veranthean PCs).
Once we hit our funding goal over 200 pages of awesome material will be prepared for printing, dressed with new illustrations and extra goodies for GMs and players alike!
Standard color softcovers for most of the books from the Veranthea Codex Collection will cost between $2.50 and $3 (plus shipping).

If you love subterranean psychic wild western locales, high-level underwater adventures in technocratic aquatic cities, being a murderhobo, or fighting off sieges by bandit hordes, definitely keep an eye on this Kickstarter!
In addition to funding the upgrades and print versions of the existing Veranthea books, 10% of every pledge will go to offer aid in a time of need to Owen K.C. Stephens and Lj Stephens.
If you're part of the RPG community you have almost certainly heard some of the horrible luck that has been plaguing the owners of Rogue Genius Games, our publishing imprint—recurring (and diverse and varied and kind of curse-like) health issues, dearly departed friends, and worse just keep coming at them throughout 2016. While they stand to make some coin from folks who pick up the revised print books of Veranthea and people getting the new ones (stretch goals folks!), the design team wants to offer a little extra help above and beyond that and we hope you'll join us in doing so.
What you get for your pledge
These books are fantastic additions for any gaming group that makes use of the Veranthea Codex and while we still think you should check out the previews to see for yourself, here's a quick breakdown of each existing supplement:
Radical Pantheon - There are awesome churches, philosophies, spells, character traits, magic items, servants, heralds, and pretty much everything you could want to know about the deities of Veranthea contained inside these 99 pages.
Into the Veil - Robots disguised as pirates: check. Maritime tesseract: check. New alien race: check. Gigantic fish that eats you slowly while giving you The Matrix treatment: check. Amazing setting (of more than 40 pages) for any seafaring game: check!
Lost Legends of Urethiel - Paizo freelancer favorite Luis Loza dug deep into the history of the real world and drew forth a coterie of monsters you won't find anywhere else than these 40 pages! If that's not enough, there are a host of truly unique NPCs inside that are guaranteed to give your gaming group pause (either in anticipation of painful unpleasantness or awe, or both).
Veranthea Codex - This is the consummate radical campaign setting for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game—in its 386 pages there are three diverse continents (renaissance steampunk fantasy on Grethadnis, wuxia eastern fantasy on Urethiel, monstrous dieselpunk on Trectoyri), a dozen new races and subtypes, two dozen class archetypes, and over 100 NPCs for the advanced classes.
See why Endzeitgeist rated it 5/5 stars: "Due to the rules and ideas herein, in both crunch and evocative prose, the Veranthea Codex can be used pretty much as a perfect scavenging ground for rules, concepts and countries, society and gods – and as such, this book can be a pretty great toolbox."
Forever Dark - Here, in a cross between the lawless wild west and the call of cthulu, life is short, violent and chaotic. Funding the expansion of this part of Veranthea is (was?) our first stretch goal and information about what awesome subterranean horrors it contains can be found in this project update!
The Fifth World - The Trekth may have disappeared but not all of their servants are gone. Massive cities populated by crustacean automatons wander the floor of Veranthea’s oceans, any knowledge of their purpose lost to time. Recently scores of influential and important figures throughout the world have disappeared, subtly abducted by these strange underwater robots -- they have even captured Tyrygillyam, the benign jabberwock that befriended Yawvil centuries ago! The ancient wizard requires a band of unique and powerful adventurers to free his ally as he distracts its captors! But will the party manage to find one of the walking cities and live to tell the tale? [Check out this project update for more information!]
The VERANTHEA SOVEREIGN is not just a charming name for a pledge level.
Your epic game will have a lasting impact on the campaign setting!
In the future we'll be revising and updating Veranthea (bringing more definition to various areas of the world and more NPCs to cover the Advanced Class Guide, Occult Adventures, and Ultimate Intrigue classes), and the actions in your high-level 8 hour game will have repercussions that will be felt in the Veranthea Compendium next year!
Note: If you can't make it to GenCon but want to be the Veranthea Sovereign, Mike Myler is happy to run the game through Roll20.net.
