Hypercorps 2099 Wasteland Kickstarter has launched!
As I mentioned in the end of the last update, Hypercorps 2099 Wasteland Kickstarter is up and running as of this morning!
What is this Wasteland thing, Mike?
A fine question! With Hypercorps 2099 there's a tricky bit of behind-the-curtain figuring -- do we make each book of the product line twice, once for Pathfinder and once for D&D 5e? My answer to that is "not necessarily -- let's have fun with it" so in that spirit the hacker handbook came out for Pathfinder last month (more info on FAMOTH here) and I got to working on some "mad science" material for D&D 5E. Shortly thereafter my video card kicked the bucket and I received an improvement (kind of) in a hand-me-down from a sibling, and though some aspects aren't quite as good now my computer can run Fallout 4. Which was even on sale.
I talk about my Fallout problem more on the Wasteland KS page but in short, I really like being immersed in the genre. Like a lot. A dangerous amount of liking. Once I finally managed to climb back out of my save files for more than a 4 hour stint of sleep, I had a massive hankering for an apocalyptic product and there it was: Hypercorps 2099 Wasteland.
So I wrote the book.
Well, most of the book. There's a 50,000 word "playtest document" with the mechanics (of which there is no shortage) and a lot of other elements, and honestly, I think it's less than 10,000 words away from being done. The playtest sessions for it so far have gone swimmingly and there are things I want to refine, but with the assets I have I could have put this together into a 100ish page product.
But as you might have figured out from above, I have a Fallout problem. So I felt the need to make this bigger and as top-notch knock-you-on-your-butt awesome as possible.
To get the money to bring Savannah on board and acquire better artwork (a Claudio Pozas cover is stretch goal #1!), we're running a Kickstarter just for this apocalyptic work of genius (you check out the Settlement Rules PDF and be the judge on that btw) and if you are one of the 5E backers from Hypercorps 2099, I strongly recommend taking a look.
As usual, there are free PDFs (3 total!) to light up your neural tastebuds. :D
That's about it! I'm already getting e-mails for the premium copies of Hypercorps 2099 getting shipped out but as with the standard prints, should anybody receive an incorrect book please let me know and I'll do everything I can to help get you the right order.
