LIVE Know Direction Podcast tonight and SPLINTER
Good morning folks!
KNOW DIRECTION PODCAST
Tonight at 8:30 PM EST (5:30 PM PST) I'll be a guest on a LIVE broadcast of the Know Direction Podcast! Many of you may already be familiar with the most popular Pathfinder podcast on the internet, but if you aren't you should totally check them out!
If you are keen to tuning in, details will be available on my Facebook page as soon as I have them. :D
While Hypercorps 2099 is definitely in the forefront of superhero cyberpunk, we aren't the only game in town! There's another great Kickstarter in the final days of its campaign that you should all take a look at: SPLINTER. This is a game that's already got a proper system out there in the world (and they made a primer so you can try it before you buy it!), so their project is solely to expand it with more monsters and what have you. The world of SPLINTER is pervasive however, and some netjackers claim to have run into it on the hypernet...
This mysterious destination on the Hypernet was first discovered by collegiate researchers but it didn't take long for hypercorporate entertainment executives to find out about it. With startling immediacy it was packaged and exploited into an elitist venue, an alternative source of excitement to murderball for those wealthy enough to afford its viewing pleasure. Rumors persists of how users are actually drawn into the never ending subterranean dungeons of the server—some claim a conglomerate of darknet hosts run SPLINTER, others believe an AI is behind its fell computations, and a few think the entirety of it is the result of entropy or the aggregation of ghost assets. These aren't concerns of the ultra-rich consumers that tune in to watch explorers of the digital landscape get torn apart, however—how long they survive and how well they cover the spread is far more pertinent.
- Normal Gravity
- Alterable Morphic
- Neutral Aligned
- SPLINTERed Avatar: The instant a user enters the SPLINTER server and every 24 hours afterward, they gain a number of "lives" equal to 1/2 hit dice (minimum 1). These lives do not carry over from day to day or refresh as a spellcaster's spells. Non-PC creatures do not gain lives. Every time a creature is slain in the SPLINTER server they lose one life and appear in a safe square 100 ft. behind the location in which they died. A creature that is slain when it possesses no lives dies normally and cannot be resurrected. When a permanently dead creature would refresh their lives, they may choose to take 2 permanent levels to have their mortality returned (gaining back their normal count of lives - 1).
They only have 4 days left but are in an excellent place to fund! Give their project a look (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/endtransmissiongames/splinter-surprising-things/updates) and consider pledging or just spreading the word about their campaign.
As always, THANK YOU FOR BACKING HYPERCORPS 2099! :D
