Why the S1 Concept?
As the name states, this is a one of a kind concept watch that is a fusion of a classy dress watch with a bit of sportiness and a modern design. Watches of this quality and components usually cost over $1000 but the team at Velthor® believes that every person should experience this work of art on their wrist without the luxury markup that most watch companies have.
The design is a Genta inspired design for the main body of the case that is both exclusive yet comfortable on the wrist. Designed in-house with advice from a swiss watch making company, this is truly a remarkable watch that boasts quality and engineering of a different kind.

The case of the S1 Concept is made purely out of 316L Stainless Steel and finished with a sandblasted finishing. 316L Stainless Steel is a high grade stainless steel that is able to withstand the harsh elements. The dial sits on the front of the case and the bezel has to be removed to service the dial. The bezel is PVD plated Gunmetal Grey. Engineered in Singapore with near precise tolerances and outstanding quality.
The movement fits perfectly into the case and is secured by friction pins instead of cheap plastic holders giving it a spot in the premium line.
At only 11mm thick, this is one of the slimmest yet robust cases.
The dial is made up of 2 layers, the first layer which is the main layer at the bottom consists of a sun-ray pattern with a circular fine sanded finish. This reflects light and creates a stunning sun-ray display. The second layer which is at the top is of a gunmetal dark grey color matching the bezel and has a sand-blasted finish.
The indices, hour and minute hands have got a strong lume applied lasting for a few hours in the dark when fully charged. It creates a stunning lume display in the dark.
The S1 Concept ships with the default steel bracelet which has drilled links meaning every link is attached via screws usually found in high-end watches. It has been engineered for comfort on the wrist and will not tug or pull on hairs.
The leather strap is made out of 100% Genuine Calf Leather and is very comfortable on the wrist. The red stitching gives it a sporty feel.
The straps are attached to the case with T-Bar screws usually found in high-end luxury watches.
Both straps come with a butterfly style clasp.

Why was this particular movement used?
The Miyota 9015 was chosen as it is one of the most accurate and high-end japan made automatic movement. The prototype shows that the accuracy of the movement was at +1.8 s/day. Almost comparable or better than a SWISS ETA 2824 movement which is in the same class. The price of the movement was also a winning factor therefore keeping the total cost of the watch at a very competitive price point.
Some Technical Details of the Miyota 9015:
- 28,800 Vibrations per hour (High beat)
- 24 Jewels
- 42+ Hours power reserve
- Hacking function (where the seconds hand stops during date/time setting)
Made from Maple wood and packaged like any other premium timepiece the packaging was also taken into serious consideration. This is not an off the shelf packaging but a custom made and designed one. The material was carefully chosen for durability without compromising on quality.

When manufacturing physical goods, production delays are a very real problem. While we’ve never experienced that before with our manufacturers, we would like to assure you that if we do experience any delays, it would be due to us ensuring that we’re delivering the best product with the best quality possible. However, once our campaign closes, we promise to deliver what you’ve bought - and will keep everyone abreast of any and all changes in timeline (if any).
